Do you know that you have the same beautiful name as my girlfriend? What a
coincidence! Well, My name is Irene and I’m very ne, thanks for asking. Ah! And I’m
single, by the way.

As we have to write about technology, I’m going to start talking about what I use it for.

Most of the time I use my mobile phone to listen to the songs of Bridgerton the
Musical (phones are not addictive, THESE SONGS are addictive) by Barlow&Bear, who
will make an album so I’m very excited; and to chat with my bestie, above all, and other
friends and with my classmates in our group chat when we have a question about
homework, exams or just for talk. Well, I also use it to call my mother when I forgot the
shopping list. Nevertheless this is not only about phones but technology in general.
For example, i use my iPad to watch lms, that are not on Net ix or HBO, in Latino
Spanish on YouTube; to draw digitally, to do Sudokus, to watch Net ix; and to read on
Wattpad, a beautiful, innocent and literary world where readers and writers let their
imagination ow.

However, this is nowadays but, during the quarantine, I utilize technology to more
things besides online classes and homework, for example, to do video calls with my
friends on Skype and to play and talk to people from other countries, I mean, socialize.

Regarding your question, I don’t know which one I would choose, I have both but I
don’t use them so much except to try the funny lters and to post drawings on
Instagram (though I haven’t posted anything in the last months). To chat with my
friends I prefer to do it on WhatsApp.

With respect to rules, in my high school we mustn’t use our phones (obviously) like in
every secondary school, yet in my case, we can’t even take it out from the pocket
because if a teacher sees a phone, he can con scate it, however, our teachers are not
as strict as others. Even though we have this rule, sometimes, some people use their
phones to chat, see their Instagram or even to take sel es. Well, it isn’t as severe as it
sounds , we are allowed to use it during the break, only out the building, and also in
class when the teacher let us to search for information or listen to music when we are
working.

Well, let’s talk about the future! Turn on the ux capacitor, McFly! Nah, just kidding. I
think in the future, technology will develop and improve and will be more
sophisticated (this is a general thought, I guess), and our life will be better thanks for it
(unless we make more realistic robots which develop emotions and then rebel against
the human race). There won’t be ying cars as many people say, it will pass a lot of time
to see that, instead maybe there won’t be petrol cars, only ecological and electrical
ones (probably because in the future the no renewable energy won’t exist). Also,
phones will be more intelligent, so to say, and maybe, just maybe, someone will make
a model whose battery lasts for more time.

In the future, I would like, no, I would love to see a type of virtual reality where you can
be in the universe you want (like shifting but with technology) and meet your ctional
crushes... I mean... characters, favorite characters. I would pay to meet my darling
Cassian, my wonderful Rhysand, my beautiful Hunt Athalar, and the most handsome,
sexiest and the most perfect literary character, Sammael (from “The princess and the
hunter”, the bestseller by Irina C. Gillan).

About another topic, I think that teenagers can have a mobile phone at 12 years old
but it depends on their maturity, not all of them are responsible enough to have it. And
I’m not talking only about phones, I think children should have controlled the time they
spend with technology because, from experience, some people can become a little
stupid (no offense) when they pass a lot of time playing or in social media (Believe me
when I say that sometimes I want to hit that people. Nah, just kidding).

Well, technology has helped me a lot, for example, to improve my English (by watching
series in original version with subtitles), to study because I make my notes on the
computer, to see pictures of my literary crushes, to inspire me to write... but there are
some things in my life that the technology won’t never replace. It’s not the same
drawing digitally than drawing by hand, it’s not the same chatting with a friend than
talking to her in person, and it’s not the same read on an ebook than have the real
book in your hands, the feeling is not the same.

By the way, do you know that my phone is 4 years old and it has had the same screen
protector all this time and it’s completely intact? From my point of view, I believe that
buying a new phone when you already have one which still works is a stupid thing,
although it’s just my opinion, if people want to do it, who am I to judge?

Sabes que tienes el mismo nombre bonito que mi novia? ¡Qué coincidencia! Bueno,
mi nombre es Irene y estoy muy bien, gracias por preguntar. Ah! Y estoy soltera, por
cierto.

Como tenemos que escribir sobre la tecnología, voy a empezar hablar de para qué la
uso.

La mayor parte del tiempo uso mi móvil para escuchar las canciones de Bridgerton the
Musical (los móviles no son adictivos, ESTAS CANCIONES sí son adictivas) de
Barlow&Bear, que van a hacer un álbum así que estoy emocionada; y para chatear con
mi mejor amiga, sobre todo, y otros amigos, y con mis compañeros de clase por el
grupo cuando tenemos una pregunta de los deberes, exámenes o simplemente para
hablar. Bueno, también lo uso para llamar a mi madre cuando olvido la lista de la
compra. Sin embargo esto no es solo de móviles sino de tecnología en general. Por
ejemplo, utilizo mi iPad para ver películas, que no están en Net ix o HBO, en español
latino en YouTube; para dibujar digitalmente, para hacer sudokus, para ver Net ix; y
para leer Wattpad, un mundo hermoso, inocente y literario donde lectores y escritores
dejan uir su imaginación.

Sin embargo, esto es actualmente pero, durante la cuarentena, usé la tecnología para
más cosas además de las clases online y los deberes, por ejemplo, para hacer
videollamadas con mis amigos en Skype y para jugar y hablar con gente de otros
países, es decir, socializar.

Respecto a tu pregunta, no sé cuál elegiría, tengo las dos pero no las uso mucho
excepto para probar ltros graciosos y para colgar dibujos en Instagram (aunque no
he subido nada los últimos meses). Para hablar con mis amigos pre ero hacerlo por
WhatsApp.

Con respecto a las normas, en mi instituto no podemos usar nuestros teléfonos

(obviamente) como en todos los centros de secundaria, pero en mi caso, no podemos
ni siquiera sacarlo del bolsillo porque si un profe ve un móvil, puede con scarlo, sin
embargo nuestros profesores no son tan estrictos. Aunque tenemos esta regla, a veces
algunos usan su móvil en clase para chatear, ver su instagram, o incluso sacarse sel es.
Bueno, no es tan severo como parece, podemos usarlo durante el recreo, solo fuera
del edi cio, y también en clase cuando el profe nos deja para buscar información o
escuchar música mientras trabajamos.

 Bueno, ¡hablemos del futuro! ¡Enciende el condensador de uzo, McFly! Nah, era
broma. Creo que en el futuro la tecnología evolucionará, mejorará y será más
so sticada (este es un pensamiento general, supongo), y nuestra vida será mejor
gracias a ello (a no ser que hagamos robots más realistas que desarrollen emociones y
luego se rebelen contra la raza humana). No habrá coches voladores como mucha
gente dice, pasará mucho tiempo para ver eso, en su lugar puede que no haya coches
de gasolina, solo ecológicos y eléctricos (probablemente porque en el futuro las
energías no renovables no existirán). También, los móviles serán más inteligentes, por
así decirlo, y tal vez, solo tal vez, alguien hará un modelo cuya batería dure más
tiempo.

En el futuro me gustaría, no, me encantaría ver un tipo de realidad virtual donde

pudieras estar en el universo que quisieras (como hacer shifting pero con tecnología) y
conocer a tus crushes cticios... digoooo... personajes, personajes favoritos. Pagaría
por conocer a mi amado Cassian, mi maravilloso Rhysand, mi hermoso Hunt Athalar, y
el personaje literario más guapo, más sexy y más perfecto, Sammael (de “La princesa y
el cazador”, el bestseller de Irina C. Gillan).

Acerca de otro tema, creo que los adolescentes pueden tener móvil a los doce años
pero depende de su madurez, no todos ellos son lo su cientemente responsables
para tenerlo. No solo estoy hablando de móviles, creo que los niños deberían tener
controlado el tiempo que pasan con la tecnología porque, por experiencia, algunas
personas pueden volverse un poquito estupidos (sin ánimo de ofender) cuando pasan
mucho tiempo jugando o en las redes sociales (créeme cuando te digo que a veces
me dan ganas de pegar a esas personas. Nah, es coña)

Bueno, la tecnología me ha ayudado mucho, por ejemplo, a mejorar mi inglés (viendo

series en versión original con subtítulos), a estudiar porque hago mis apuntes a
ordenador, a ver imágenes de mis crushes literarios, a inspirarme para escribir... pero
hay algunas cosas en mi vida que la tecnología nunca sustituirá. No es lo mismo
dibujar en digital que dibujar a mano, no es lo mismo chatear con una amiga que
hablar con ella en persona, y no es lo mismo leer en un ebook que tener un libro real
en las manos, las sensación no es la misma.

Por cierto, ¿sabes que mi móvil tiene 4 años i ha tenido la misma pantalla protectora
todo este tiempo y está completamente intacta? Desde mi punto de vista, creo que
comprar un móvil nuevo cuando ya tienes uno que funciona es algo estúpido, aunque
solo es mi opinión, si la gente quiere hacerlo, ¿quién soy yo para juzgar?
