Task 1

The bar chart illustrates how much A&V Tech Company earned from three types: laptops,
smartphones, and cameras in $US millions between 2000 and 2004.

In general, the revenue from laptops, smartphones, and cameras showed an increase from 2000 to
2004. In addition, the highest revenue was for laptops and the lowest figure was for smartphones.

In terms of laptops, this group earned over $4 million in 2000 before decreasing to about $3 million
in 2001. This group witnessed an upward trend in the next period, $4 million in 2002, $6 million in
2003 and reaching the highest figure of just over $8 million in 2004.

On the other hand, in 2001, this company lost about $1 million of cameras and approximately $2
million of smartphones. The figure for revenue of these groups increased in the next 2 years. In
2002, while A&V Tech Company lost about $1 million in smartphones, the revenue of cameras went
up to nearly $1 million. In 2003, these groups reached the highest figure of $3 million. In 2004, while
smartphones dropped to about $2.5 million, cameras stayed unchanged at the same revenue in
2003 of about $3 million.

Task 2

It is believed that many families are choosing to send their children to boarding schools, therefore they can have time to
work. In my opinion, I think that the benefits are far more significant.

In terms of disadvantages, if kids study in a boarding school, they will have less time to meet face to face their parents. This
can make decrease the bonding, and connection between parents and their children face-to-face. Kids have to communicate
with their parents via smartphones, laptops, and so on on the internet, and they feel homesick.

In terms of advantages, while children are away at boarding school, parents will have more

time to pay attention to work and earn money. Therefore, they can have a better financial position to provide their children
with a better lifestyle and more opportunities for the future.

Moreover, kids who study in boarding schools can have more chances to improve their interaction skills. They might meet
friends from different backgrounds who share accommodation with them, therefore, kids will be more confident in
communicating with peer support. They need to exchange ideas to figure out the problems and increase their knowledge.
Moreover, adolescents are trained to be more independent from family. For example, students in preparatory school have to
set their own schedules to do household chores such as cleaning the floors, doing laundry, and learning. This is the
opportunity for them to be mature at a young age as they are allowed to manage their time appropriately.

In conclusion, in my view, sending their children to boarding schools, many families have more benefits than disadvantages.
While having less time sitting down together, parents have more time to focus on working, and kids can have more
opportunities to improve themselves.
