Assessment 1
1. These words are related in a way that they describe the cell’s characteristics,
functions, and parts.

Activity 2: Prior Knowledge
What I know about cell?
Cell is called the fundamental unit of life. The basic structures of all living
organism. The human body is made up of mini micro cells. It also contains DNA
information and can replicate itself. Cells provide structure for the body, take in
nutrients from food, carry out important functions.
Assessment 2:
The importance of studying cell is to help us understand how organism function.
It enables us to explore and understand the growth and development of other livi
ng organisms as living things consist of cells.

EXPLORE
Activity 3: Scrambled Words
1. All living things are composed of one or more cells
2. Cell is the basic unit of life
3. All cells arise from pre-existing cells
Assessment 3:
1. It concluded Cells are the basic unit of life. It can replicate itself and any
organism in the world consists of cell.

Activity 4: Looking Into the Past

1665 Robert Hooke used to look at thin slices of plant tissues from
the first light microscopes. Cork appeared to consist of
thousands of tiny chambers under a microscope that he called
cells.
1676 Anton van Leeuwenhoek was claim to be the first to study the
composition of a red blood cell of various species, as well as a
sperm cell, under his microscope.
1838 Matthias Schleiden came to the conclusion that all parts of the
plant are composed of cells.
1839 Theodor Schwann reported that all animal tissues are also
composed of cells.
1858 Rudolf Virchow concluded that all cells come from pre-existing
cells.

Assessment 4:
It allowed scientists to be able to examines the organisms that cannot be
seen with our naked eyes. On the other hand, for better observation of various
cells and microscopic organism, many more cell discoveries were made.

EXTEND
Part Of Me
We all start from a cell
A cell that consist of organelles
You may not feel it but we can see it
Through the help of electron microscope

The basic unit of life

Is the thing that makes me alive
I realize how important the cell for me
Without its components there will be no me

Cell, it may be the smallest unit in the organism

But it has big part of me, cell is my family
The smallest thing that cannot be seen by the naked eye
Is the thing I wish it’ll never die

REFLECTIONS
Concepts Learned:
I learned a lot of information about cells, its characteristics, functions, and
parts. Cells are the basic unit of life. It can replicate itself and any organism in
the world is made up of cell. It has a big role in the body. Its structure and
functions helps our body regulate in daily things. It means that there’s no living
organism without cells.
Concepts Unlearned:
I want to know if there is type cells that are not yet discover, like how the world
evolve so as the cell. I’m also curious if there’s a possibility that cell can revive if it
dies, if so how can it happened.
JOURNAL

Another day, another module to read and answer. Will I enjoy reading
this topic. It is not hard for me to understand this, since we already tackled
this lesson at Elpa High. And also I have already some knowledge about
Cell. It’s more like I’m reviewing this topic. Of course, I also gain new
information about cell. Well it’s not bored to read it because it’s just short,
and also I enjoy writing poem. It’s been months since the last time I create
a poem. Overall, it’s worth to gain new knowledge. Thanks for this module,
now I can recall the lesson we have.
