General Instructions:
Part – A:
1. It consists three sections- I and II.
2. Section I has 16 questions of 1 mark each. Internal choice is provided in 5 questions.
3. Section II has 4 questions on case study. Each case study has 5 case-based sub-parts.
An examinee is to attempt any 4 out of 5 sub-parts.
Part – B:
1. Question No 21 to 26 are Very short answer Type questions of 2 mark each,
2. Question No 27 to 33 are Short Answer Type questions of 3 marks each
3. Question No 34 to 36 are Long Answer Type questions of 5 marks each.
4. Internal choice is provided in 2 questions of 2 marks, 2 questions of 3 marks and 2 questions of 5marks.

Section I has 16 questions of 1 mark each [16*1=16]

Q.1 If p(x) = 3x3 – 2x2 + 6x – 5, find p(2).

Write a quadratic polynomial, sum of whose zeroes is 2√ 3 and their product is 2.

Q.2 If the product of the zeroes of x2 – 3kx + 2k2 – 1 is 7, then find the values of k.

Q.3 Find the number of solutions of the following pair of linear equations: x + 2y – 8 = 0; 2x + 4y = 16

Q.4 The cost of 3 pens and 5 pencil boxes is Rs. 120 and that of 4 pens and 7 pencil boxes is Rs.250.
Find the cost of pen alone.

Q.5 Find how many two-digit numbers are divisible by 9 (or) In an AP, if a = 3, n = 8, Sn = 192, find d.

Q.6 For what value of m, the quadratic equation x2 – mx + 9 = 0 have real and equal roots?

Q.7 Write the nature of roots of the quadratic equation 9x2 – 6x – 2 = 0.

Form a quadratic polynomial, the sum and product of whose zeros are (–3) and 2 respectively.

Q.9 If sum of two numbers is 50 and their difference is 10, then find the numbers.
Q.10 If (6, k) is a solution of the equation 3x + y – 22 = 0, then find the value of k.

Q.11 Find the value of sec2640 – tan2640.


Q.12 In ∆ ABC, right-angled at B, AB =5cm & angle of C = 30°. Find the lengths of the sides BC & AC.

Q.13 If θ = 450, then find the value of 2tan2θ + cot2θ.

Q.14 Find the value of θ , if for sin 2θ = 1, where 00 ≤ θ ≤ 900

Q.15 If the class mark of a class is 10 and its class width is 6, then find the lower limit of the class.

Q.16 Two dice are thrown simultaneously. What is the probability that the sum of the two numbers
appearing on the top is 13?

Q.21 The 17th term of an AP exceeds its 10th term by 7. Find the common difference.

Q.22 Find the values of k for the quadratic equations kx (x – 2) + 6 = 0 which has two equal roots.

Q.23 For which values of p does the pair of equations given below has unique solution?
4x + p y + 8 = 0 and 2x + 2y + 2 = 0

Q.24 The angle of elevation of the top of a tower from a point on the ground, which is 30m
away from the foot of the tower, is 30°. Find the height of the tower.

Q.25 Prove that:- sec A (1 – sin A)(sec A + tan A) = 1.

Evaluate : 4(sin4 900 + cos4 900 ) - 3(cos2 900 - sin2 900 ) + 5cos2 900

Q.27 Obtain all other zeroes of the polynomial x4+ 6x3+ x2− 24x − 20, if two of its zeroes are 2 &−5.

Q.28 Find the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial x2 + 7x + 10, and verify the relationship between
the zeroes and the coefficients.

Q.29 Find the roots of the equation 5x2 – 6x – 2 = 0 by the method of completing square.
Q.30 Find the sum of first 51 terms of an AP whose second and third terms are 14 &18 respectively.

Q.31 The sum of the 4th and 8th terms of an AP is 24 and the sum of the 6th and 10th terms is 44.
Find the first three terms of the AP.

Find the sum of the first 40 positive integers divisible by 6.

Q.34 Draw the graphs of the equations x – y + 1 = 0 and 3x + 2y – 12 = 0. Determine the coordinates of
the vertices of the triangle formed by these lines and the x-axis, and shade the triangular region.

2 women and 5 men can together finish an embroidery work in 4 days, while 3 women and
6 men can finish it in 3 days. Find the time taken by 1 woman alone to finish the work, and
also that taken by 1 man alone.

Q.35 A straight highway leads to the foot of a tower. A man standing at the top of the tower observes
a car at an angle of depression of 30°, which is approaching the foot of the tower with a uniform
speed. Six seconds later, the angle of depression of the car is found to be 60°. Find the time
taken by the car to reach the foot of the tower from this point.
