The report of the field visit is to contextualize the finding during the field visit.
As students of Computer Engineering with goal of gaining knowledge on
entrepreneurship the visit was initiated. Our teacher Mohan Bhusal proposed the
visit to very unique business “AROGYA Nepal” runs by himself on hillside of
Lamatar beyond Lubu. AROGYA Nepal has unique service in that it provides an
isolated location and change of atmosphere to people who are mentally
distressed. Also the life changing diets ,Yoga ,Natural , Vegetarian and organic
food, Busy routine throughout day and many other ideas implemented in one
single place to provide truly different experience to customers found nowhere
else in the country.
All students who participated in the visit started the journey
from college to the visit location first by bus then Walked on foot due to
inaccessibility of road to large vehicles.
The visit in the end gave clear ideas of registration,
stakeholders, Type of Company registration, Importance of business location,
Advertisement focus and risks of any business.

1
Chapter 2: Observation and Experience

2.1 Initial Observation

The immediate observation was that the location of the business was chosen to
be remote and at a hillside. The Visit site was About 2.5km from the bus stop and
had to be walked uphill to reach there .Once we reached the buildings were not
tall but fairly wide and large for accommodation of many requirements like Yoga
room, Spa and massage room, Kitchen ,Counsel room, Medical room ,etc.
Many medical herbs had been planted around the premises of
the building. The location was far from the city and was quiet but had a beautiful
view of the Kathmandu Valley.

2.2 Business Information

We also had much information that Mohan Bhusal Sir would tell us about the
genesis of the business,
1. The business has four stakeholders including Mohan Bhusal sir himself, Tho
of stakeholders are active while other tho are passive stakeholders.
2. The business was registered in VAT and not PAN as the business also has
many foreign customers and many of them pay in US dollars (USD$).
3. VAT is a little harder to maintain and the entire operational budget of
income and outgoings must be reported to the government every month
unlike PAN which requires report submission once a year.
4. The location was chosen after very tedious and detailed process .There
were multiple visit to potential sites around Kathmandu Valley and the
current location was chosen for its south-faced geography ,quiet and
pleasant environment ,being fairly close from center of Kathmandu Valley.
Still being far from accessible to people it can agitate people against to the
location.
5. The business had an initial investment of NRs 5Crore for buying the land
and construction of buildings.
6. The business requires customers who can spend substantial amount of
money and the business caters and advertise only to those who can append
enough money to spend several days, weeks or even months there .If such

2
customers are not found or are unwilling to trust the services then it can
potentially be economically strenuous to the business.
7. The customers can expect very strict set of rules that must be followed
after entering the premises and being admitted to AROGYA Nepal.
8. AROGYA Nepal is a very unique and special business as it provides services
for people with different medical conditions. Patients have to stay in the
location for multiple days, weeks, months as they wish to. Inside there
cannot be used to electronic devices .Also, non-vegetarians food is allowed.
Everyday people have to follow a routine of different activities.
9. The objective of AROGYA Nepal is to provide quality service to its
patients/customers, many customers who have mental health problems,
obesity problems have found success in finding better life style and change
for the better.
10.The services/routine in AROGYA Nepal include ,Yoga and meditation, Spa,
Oil massage ,Herbal Medicine ,audio sound meditation, musical
instruments and art encouragement, interaction with each other, games of
different nature to enhance interactivity, creativity, focus of people.
11.It also has programs for students and young people for a few days or a
couple of weeks to educate them to make their life better from a young
age.
12.There are about 11-12 staff that run the business daily and all of them stay
in the location. All staff had to train for several months for the unique
challenge of the services to be provided.

3
2.3 Experience

We also had a chance to experience some of the services and routines of

AROGYA Nepal during this visit,
1. The first experience was food, the lunch was steamed grinded corn,
daal, green vegetable and Achar. The food felt fresh and great
tasting, it was truly unorthodox yet healthy and wonderful.
2. We did meditation while listening to audio /vibration of different
frequencies made from metallic pots while sleeping flat on the back.
It was very relaxing and soothing, causing many students to sleep for
a while.
3. There was a meditation class, different audible sounds (like OM)
were to be made while controlling the breathing. Though it felt
unfamiliar in the beginning the experience was very calming and
tranquil.
4. One of the doctor of AROGYA Nepal gave us some speech about how
to relieve our mental stress.
5. In the afternoon, we went for a short hike from AROGYA Nepal to get
a beautiful view from the top.
6. Mohan Sir also entertained us with some games which was very fun.
7. We had roti of buckwheat flour and vegetable curry which was very
fulfilling and the food menu of the entire day was different every
time.

Chapter 3: Analysis

Some of the analysis after the field visit can be summarized below;
3.1 Disadvantages and Risks

1. Though the location is beautiful and pleasant it is also far from accessible to
people and can agitate them against ever reaching the location.
2. The seasonal customer arrival can be affected adversely if customers do not
arrive in the required time/season.
3. The favoring of customers who are willing to spend substantial amounts of
money can be a serious problem if such customers are not found and other
willing customers without the sum of money aren’t taken into
consideration.
4. Staff have to be hand trained for the job in this organization which could
mean set back if one of the staff decides to leave.

3.2 Advantages
1. The services being provided are found in other places, it cannot be found
in a single place like it is here.
2. Having self-produced herbal medicine can be massively easy and effective.
3. The close relationship with patients can create a harmonious and
comfortable environment for everyone.
4. Very well thought ideas have been implemented for the patients of
different needs.

5
Chapter 4: Conclusion

The purpose of the field visit was to understand about being

an entrepreneur .The owning and operating any business has multiple risks and
also many advantages. AROGYA Nepal plays a crucial role in improving healthcare
in Nepal, particularly in remote and underserved areas and the visit also
highlighted the need of unique business opportunities that must be taken into
