Mount Iraya last erupted in 1454.
In 1998, volcanologists recorded seismic swarms which led them to form a monitoring network on
Batan Island for several months. It is the most prominent feature of the 20-km-long Batan Island.
The 1.5-km-wide summit crater is largely filled by a younger cone that forms the-day summit.
Boasting an elevation of over 1,000 meters above sea level,
It is the highest peak of Batanes and the northernmost frontier of Philippine mountains.
The over changing view and experience that you can only feel and encounter at mount Iraya.
