President Amy Jernigan called Meeting to order 1200 at the Western Pacific Brewery Flag Salute by Rotarian Rod Ritchie and PP & PDG Dee Fairbanks lead the Innovation. Table Introductions: Rotarian Raquel Nolan introduced guest and Prospective Member Mike Vinum Sierra Pacific Industries accepted form for new membership, Rotarian Mike Spanfelner introduced Feather Falls Lodge Manager Mark Grover prospective member, Rotarian Lonnie Steedman, As GI in costume introduced a beautiful table of Rotarians. Rotarian John Lowe Publishing described no red badges today but all good Rotarians, PPRotarian Bud Tracy table introduced past member Gary Norwood, Pending New Member Tina Pruit and Rotarian Dana Campbell of the Chico Rotary Club. Recognitions: President Amy addressed Rotarian Angie Mastelotto offering her the 20$ recognition fee of her business and to report on recent Feather Falls Trail hike. Angie mentioned her 32 years with Mid-Valley Title (starting as an early teenager) Her Company Mid Valley Title offers a wide range of title services, real estate needs and certifications with title and escrow. Her companies association with First American Title compliments services to local customers with the local small company advantages and abilities of the larger Title company. Angie reported on her weekend hike to Feather Falls and commented on a great experience as one of tallest waterfalls in North America, Feather Falls is a spectacular waterfall, plunging 410 ft. along the Fall River. Outside of Yosemite, this is one of the best waterfalls in California. Rotarian Dave Miller of Digger shopper news reported its beginning in 1977 in Oroville. Digger was sold in 1982, then purchased in 1991 by him. Since 1991 publications have been added. The 101 things to do in Butte & Shasta counties, the Source, and Oroville Gridley visitor guide. Digger was Inc. in 1998 and has provide 35 years of publishing services to the community. Special announcements: *Nov. 3 Thursday is blood drive at Oroville Sports Club 1- 5 pm Rotary has number for credit for Noon Rotary. *On Monday 10/31 before next meeting at 10am there will be a board meeting any member needing make-up is welcome to attend for the credit. * On Monday 10/31 District Governor Jack Taylor will be attending Oroville Noon Rotary meeting on Nov. 7. * On Dec. 13 Noon Rotary has volunteered for Salvation Army Bell Ringing at Raleys signup sheet 10-8 2 people per hour is needed. Regular Meeting 1200 hours

Student of Month: Rotarian Penny Chennel Carter introduced the Oroville Noon Rotary Student of the Month Jennifer Bible. A student with a 3.67 Grade point average. Penny mentioned Jennifer born and raised in Oroville attended Ophir, Central and now senior at Oroville High School her favorite subject as English, loves writing and with a passion for art, painting and enjoys the advance placement art class. Her recent art work is composed of the perspective changes in her over the years of art work. Serving her school as Yearbook editor, Student body council, Science ambassador, Palermo bible youth group and the Hula hoop dance her High School counselor reported Jennifer as a very sweet person, dedicated and most positive student on campus. Employed at Taco Bell in addition to volunteering with the Salvation Army, her supervisors attended the presentation and were elated to report Jennifer as a positive, dedicated, energetic role model employee. Always with a great smile to customers and serves as mentor to employees. Her future plans involve Art Institute in Sacramento and college plans. In addition to the Rotary certificate of recognition Rotarian Rich Sutherland indicated the offering of Taco Bell bucks would be substituted with movie tickets for her an her friends to use. Jennifer was gracious in her response to the recognition and proudly introduced her mother in attendance Deborah Bible. Rotary members proudly delivered a full applause to Jennifer.

Program: Rotarian Sal Rodriquez presented on the topic of Winterizing your landscape, yards, lawns and entertainment areas of your homes. His company offers commercial and residential landscape services including regular maintenance, new installations, excavating, erosion control and landscape services. Sal was proud to present his staff and their accomplishments with many photographs of projects. He offered extensive advice on specific plants, shrubs, seeding, fertilizing, pest control, mulching and his experiences. He explained in addition to his services he is proud to coordinate with many other firms in Oroville for solutions to your landscape and entertainment areas current and further needs. The membership appreciated the information with many questions and request for advice.
