Location: Alabang, Muntinlupa City

Alabang is a barangay in Muntinlupa,

Philippines. At one time the area was a
farming district, and has since grown from
a village to a major commercial center,
which includes the Filinvest City and
Madrigal Business Park, and a
transportation hub. It has an area of
8.064 square kilometers (3.114 sq mi). A
large portion of Ayala Alabang came from
Barangay Alabang. It is formerly the
location of the Alabang Stock Farm.

Sitte believed that the quality of public

spaces, such as squares and plazas, was
crucial to the success of a city. He
emphasized the need for well-designed and
attractive public spaces that could serve as
social and cultural hubs for the community.

Just like in Alabang, Muntinlupa City

their development of high-end large
scale commercial real estate projects;
the Filinvest City, changed the
landscape of the Alabang where it was
once vast fields of cow pasture until
the late 1980s, into a district that
houses new residential, business,
industrial and commercial
establishments. It has well-planned
and beautiful public areas that might
operate as the neighborhood's social
and cultural center's.

Sitte argued against the rigid, gridiron

street layouts that were common in his
time. He advocated for more organic,
irregular street patterns that followed
the natural contours of the land and
respected historical development
patterns.

Sitte emphasized the idea of "space formed by

buildings" and the importance of spatial
composition in urban design. He believed that

with flexibility in mind, allowing for adaptation

trains and intercity buses around the Starmall shopping center. The long-standing
Festival Supermall houses mid-range boutiques and department stores, plus
indoor amusement parks and a multiplex movie theater. Dining options include
fast-food outlets and family-friendly chain eateries, as well as street vendors
selling snacks and fruit.
