4. DESCRIPTION
Field of invention
SENTIMENT DETECTION AND TRACKING OVER TIME , MULTI-LINGUAL
SENTIMENT ANALYSIS , SENTIMENT CLASSIFICATION AND
CLUSTERING , ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.
Background of the invention
The background of the invention for sentiment analysis can be traced back to the early days of natural language
processing and computational linguistics. Sentiment analysis is the process of identifying and extracting the
emotional tone and opinions expressed in text data, such as social media posts, customer reviews, news articles,
and other forms of digital communication. The development of sentiment analysis algorithms and techniques
is driven by the increasing volume of unstructured data on the web and the need to automatically process and
understand this data. Businesses use sentiment analysis to analyze customer feedback, improve their products
and services, and gain insights into market trends. Governments and non-profit organizations use sentiment
analysis to monitor public opinion, track political trends, and identify emerging issues. The field of sentiment
analysis has evolved over time, from simple rule-based approaches to more sophisticated machine learning
algorithms that leverage deep neural networks and other advanced techniques. The rise of big data and the
availability of cloud computing resources have made it possible to process and analyze large volumes of text
data in real-time, opening up new opportunities for sentiment analysis applications. Overall, sentiment analysis
has become an important tool for businesses, governments, and researchers to better understand human
emotions and opinions, and to gain insights into the complex social, political, and economic issues that shape
our world.

DESIGN OF THE INVENTION
6
Brief Description of the Drawing
1.The drawing could include a flowchart illustrating the process of sentiment analysis, starting with the input
of text data and ending with the classification of sentiment.
2.The flowchart could include different steps, such as preprocessing the text data, tokenization, and applying
machine learning algorithms.
3.The drawing may also include examples of different types of text data, such as reviews, social media posts,
and customer feedback.
4.The drawing may include visual representations of the sentiment classification, such as color-coded labels
or icons indicating positive, negative, or neutral sentiment.
5.The drawing could also include a representation of the confidence score or other metrics used to evaluate
the accuracy of the sentiment analysis..
7
The experimental protocol for this project is designed and described as follows:
1. Collect a dataset of text data, such as customer reviews or social media posts, that contains
both positive and negative sentiments. The dataset should be balanced in terms of the number
of positive and negative instances.
2. Preprocess the dataset by removing stop words, punctuations, and special characters. Tokenize
the text into individual words and apply techniques such as stemming or lemmatization to reduce the
number of unique words.
3. Train a sentiment analysis model using a machine learning algorithm such as Naive Bayes or
Support Vector Machines. The model should be trained on a subset of the dataset, and then validated
using a holdout set of data to measure its accuracy.
4. Evaluate the performance of the model on the validation set by calculating metrics such as
precision, recall, and F1-score. Adjust the model hyperparameters to improve its performance.
5. Apply the trained model to a new dataset to evaluate its performance in a real-world scenario.
Analyze the results to determine the accuracy and effectiveness of the sentiment analysis model.

ANNUXURE III
The present invention relates to a system and method for sentiment analysis, which is the process of
identifying the sentiment of a piece of text, such as a review or social media post, as either positive,
negative, or neutral. The invention uses a machine learning algorithm to classify the sentiment of the text
based on the words and phrases used. The system includes a dataset of text data, which is preprocessed to
remove stop words, punctuation, and special characters. The text is then tokenized into individual words
and transformed into a numerical vector using techniques such as bag-of-words or TF-IDF. The numerical
vectors are used to train a machine learning algorithm, such as Naive Bayes or Support Vector Machines, to
classify the sentiment of the text. The method involves inputting a piece of text into the system, which then
applies the machine learning algorithm to classify the sentiment as positive, negative, or neutral. The
system can also provide a confidence score for the classification, indicating the likelihood that the sentiment
is accurate. The invention has several applications, including in customer service, marketing, and social
media monitoring. For example, the system can be used to analyze customer feedback and identify areas for
improvement in a product or service. It can also be used to monitor social media for mentions of a brand or
product, and to understand how people feel about it. Additionally, the system can be used in political
campaigns to gauge public opinion and sentiment towards candidates and policies. Overall, the present
invention provides an accurate and efficient system and method for sentiment analysis, with numerous
practical applications in various fields.
