● Passport or its copy for absentee
registration with at least 6 months of validity
remaining on the passport.
● 1 to 5 Shareholders with owning at least
10% of shares per person.
No other documents are required.

Sometimes in advertisements, you might
encounter cheaper costs that have been
proposed to register a company in Oman.
Unfortunately, these types of advertisements
don’t mention the included costs at first, but
later on, they force their clients to pay the costs
at a very high price. So, be careful about these
types of advertisements.

Why is the registration of a company in

absenteeism better than traveling to Oman
to do so?
Here are the costs of traveling to Oman:
The estimated costs for one person staying
for 3 days is equal to 170 OMR including
buying tickets, staying at a hotel, food and
transportation.
It is clear that registering a company
remotely would be more beneficial to you in
economic terms.

Does company registration mean

residency?
No, you must get a visa, if you want to start
your business.
After receiving residency, you can open an
international bank account, buy or rent a car
and house, etc.

What type of company do you intend to

register?
If you want to have 100% of the
ownership, and in case you are not willing to
leave part of your company investment in the
bank; in this case, we recommend LLC:
Limited liability company or LLC
(utilized by famous companies like Google)
In an LLC , all shareholders share the
company's profits and if the business goes
under, shareholders’ only liability is for the
percentage of their share in the business.

What is the difference between various

grades of the company?
The size of your business determines the
company’s grade. For example, for a small
business, you choose the 4th Grade company,
and for a large business, you choose the
Excellent Grade Company: (You don’t leave
part of your company investment in the bank).
You can upgrade the grade of your company in
the future.

Cost of Obtaining Residency in Oman?

Read this section carefully, as there is
often a lot of misleading advertising on the
internet.
• If you are present in Oman for a
minimum of 2 weeks to 30 days, you can
handle the process yourself.
• You have a trustworthy Omani
individual who can cover the legal aspect of
your presence.
• You have prepared a business plan in
Arabic that complies with Oman's Ministry of
Commerce standards and can be quickly
approved. (New law)

for one person for approximately 650
Omani Rials.

Omani Rials will be invoiced by IBD
Company for you.
This amount is not dependent on the
number of company shareholders and is paid
only once. So, whether your shareholders are
one person or five people, you only pay this fee
once.

Is it possible to get a visa for my

family?
Certainly, each shareholder of the company
has the option to apply for residency for their
spouses and children under the age of 21.
How much does it cost for my family to
get the family visa?
For your wife: 150 Rials
For both of your parents: 250 Rials
For each of your children under 21 years
of age: 100 Rials

What is the timeframe for company

registration? How long does it typically take
to obtain the Investor Visa?
The process of registering a company
usually takes between 7 to 14 working days,
while obtaining the Investor Visa generally
takes between 30 to 40 working days.
Important Note:
Please be aware that Fridays and
Saturdays are considered holidays in Oman
and are not counted as official working days.

Attention:
In some cases, you may encounter a 48-
hour visa advertisement. Be cautious regarding
these types of advertisements as there is no
such thing as a 48-hour visa. After paying the
fees, you would have no other choice, but to
wait for a month for your visa to be issued.
You might come across offers with lower
prices, which can be alluring; nevertheless, be
cautious of hidden costs that may emerge later
and require payment.

Numerous instances exist where investors

fall victim to opportunists at the airport, hotels,
boarding houses, and similar places. It's crucial

Oman Banks
Note: You are not allowed to open a bank
account without having the Resident Card.
Many banks run in Oman, but foreign
investors mostly prefer two banks:
• Muscat Bank
• Sohar Bank
Both banks provide international services
to their customers.
By having visa cards issued by both banks,
you can make international purchases and
receive international money.

Two types of bank accounts are opened for
investors:
• Personal banking account
• Corporate banking account
The check book is given to you when you
open a corporate banking account; while, you
will not receive a checkbook when you open a
personal banking account.
For a corporate banking account, all
members of the company must hold visa and
be present in Oman.

Do I need to register an Excellent
company to operate in Oman?
No, if you want to work with huge sums of
money, sums of 250 thousand Omani rials per
