the new lesson Name each polygon.
II. Review

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson T

Let us sing a song entitled “The 3D Solid Figures” to the tune of “The More We Get Together”.
“The 3D Solid Figures”
The 3D Solid Figures are lessons in our Math. (2x)
Cone, Cylinder and Rectangular Prism.
Sphere, Pyramid and the six faces cube
So, the 3D Solid Figures are lessons in our Math.
(Repeat 2x)

Ask the following questions:

What do we mean by 3D?
What are the different solid figures mentioned in our song?

C. Presenting Examples/ instances of the T

new lesson Three-dimensional is having or appearing to have length, width and height. It is sufficiently full in
characterization and representation to be believable.

width

 A sphere is a round solid figure with every point on its surface equidistant fro its center.
 A cone is a three-dimensional geometric figure that has a flat surface or base and a curved
surface pointed towards the top.
 A cylinder is a solid figure with two circular bases and a curved surface.
 A pyramid is a polyhedron firmed by connecting a polygonal base and a point called the
apex Each base edged and apex for a triangle called a lateral face.
 A rectangular prism is a solid figure which has six faces that are rectangles.
A cube is a symmetrical three-dimensional shape, either solid or hollow, contained by six
equal squares.

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing I

new skills #2 GROUP 1
Match Column A to Column B that describes the different solid figures
Column A Column B
1) The base is a polygon and its faces are a) rectangular
triangles prism
2. A spatial figure with a polygonal base whose b) cone
edges meet at a common vertex. c) pyramid
3. A spatial figure having a circular base and one d) cylinder
vertex. e) triangular prism
4) A spatial figure with 2 parallel congruent faces
called bases and the other faces are
parallelograms.
5) A spatial figure with 2 circular bases, no edge
and no vertex.
