Movie Critique

Title: Avatar The Last Airbender

Overview:
My first impression of the title is that I thought it was the Avatar like aliens. But when I
heard that this movie are all about the capabilities of benders in different nations like water,
fire, air, and earth, I felt so thrilled and excited to watch the movie. I expected that this
movie would be awesome based on the feedback or comments and based on what I heard
from people.

Plot and Structure:

For me, it didn’t really follow the usual order of events because there were many
circumstances where I thought it could be the climax, also there were so many thrilling
parts of the movie. Yes it did use flashbacks in the past. For me this movie is a cliff hanger,
I’m craving for the next part of this movie. It was was not that challenging for me because I
know Avatar can find a way to fight against the enemies. The movie was understandable.
Characters:
What I can say about the characters is that they all did good at acting and it’s very well
organized. Yes I find some of the characters frustrating but it was no big deal. What I like
the most of the characters is Katara. She’s so kind, willing to fight for her friend, and very
supportive of Aang. I also like the character of Aang which is the Avatar, the actor portrayed
it well in the movie.

Setting:
It is not from the real world. It was so obvious that it was all green screen, however it’s
really effective and appropriate for teenagers like me. The edits really fit for the concept
and the places for the movie.

Timing/Pacing:
The timing of the background music or sound effects was nice. It made some scenes more
intense. The pacing was somehow good, not too slow, not too fast, just right. Overall, the
editor did the movie more exciting, it added more thrill and suspense.

In Closing (Conclusion):
In conclusion, the movie was superb! The edit was incredible, the music and sound effects,
the acting, the flow of the movie, and most of all I really appreciate their efforts or
handworks they put in this movie. It really paid off because this movie was very splendid
also very memorable for me.
