I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to;
a. Identify the ingredients, tools, utensils and materials needed in preparing fruit salad;
b. Demonstrate the correct procedure in preparing fruit salad and
c. Observe cleanliness and orderliness during and after the process.

Exactly! That is what we are going to
discuss and demonstrate for today.

B. ANALYSIS

This morning class, I will show you


on how to prepare a delicious and
nutritious salad which is fruit salad.
It can be served as appetizer, desserts or
as a side-salad. Before we will proceed,
we need to remember first the safety
precautions for us to avoid any accidents
and food contamination. Who can give me
the safety precautions class? Any volunteer? (Some students are raising their hand)

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

1. Assemble all the ingredients.


2. Wear your complete PPE.
3. Remove all your jewelleries.
4. Wash hands before and after preparing
food.
5. Use potholder in handling hot object.
6. Turn off the gas tank after using it.

MATERIALS NEEDED
1. Large Bowl/Container
2. Knife
3. Strainer
4. Wooden Ladle
5. Measuring Cups
So those are the materials needed in preparing
Fruit Salad. We shall now proceed
in familiarizing the ingredients. What are the
ingredients needed class?

1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 pack All purpose cream
½ cup cheese (cut into tiny cubes-optional)
1 pc. Apple
1/4 kl grapes
2 pcs. Orange

Okay. Thank you. How many cup/cups are


there in 250 ml class? Anyone? (Some students are raising their hand)
Yes Wendell? 1 cup is equivalent to 250 ml ma’am.
Very good! If 250 ml is equivalent to 1 cup,
How about ½ cup class? How many ml do we

Yes Herilyn? 125 ml is equivalent to ½ cup ma’am.


Excellent!
Did you know class, the combination of
these fruits would be one big healthy serving.
We can weight loss, it is also rich in fiber
content and folic acid. It can also boost our
energy levels and so on.

Now, let’s proceed to the procedure


class. As you read the procedure, I will going to
demonstrate it and I want you to focus listen and
observe carefully because afterwards you will

1. Drain the fruit cocktail of its juice
and transfer it in a mixing bowl.

condensed milk and mix all the
other ingredients together.

depending to your taste.

refrigerate it and serve it chilled
the next day.

In the laboratory area, it is necessary to observe cleanliness and orderliness before and after you
process food.
Always remember the safety precautions before and after the process in order to avoid accidents
and food contamination.
Measure and follow the correct procedures accurately in order to attain / get the exact taste,
texture, aroma and flavor of the product.
IV. EVALUATION
