Video Reaction Form

Please complete one of these form for each video. Must be complete
sentences and typed.
1. Who is the author?
The author of the lecture is Tim Wise.

2. What is the topic?

The topic discussed in the video is racial equity amongst us all in
this country.

3. What is the date of the video?

The date of the video is March 16th, 2016.

4. What are the major concepts?

The major concepts discussed in the video describes the gap in
which African Americans feel that is created by the vast majority
in this country. We still need to have these conversations as a
whole about the unjust inequality that African Americans still face
to this day. Many believe that we no need to have these
conversations like the idea social inequality was just a thing of the
past. While that is not true we still to this day see various forms of
social inequality and it baffles me that many don’t want to discuss
the topic because they believe the idea has been stated various
times. But we have to keep addressing the idea and fighting
because it’s still a prominent figure in our society today.

5. Relate this topic to the African American’s current political and

economic experience.
The current political climate we live in is very high after just
coming off of one of the most racially charged elections I’ve seen
since I was born. Soon after it was announced these we’d have a
new president those who felt like the election was rigged and/or
tampered to force the former president out of office many
stormed the capital which is a direct form of treason. The
economic climate surrounding this topic is still prominent today
with many African Americans only making eighty cents to the
dollar due to their skin color.

6. What can you learn from the video that you did not know before?
What I learned from this video that I didn’t have prior knowledge
of is that many don’t even want to have the conversation to solve
an ongoing issue they’d rather let it stew as if it were to solve
itself.
