Statement of Purpose

I hereby wish to state my interest in a place in MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation at

Bolton University. My name is Sofia Amin, I am from Sahiwal, Punjab province Pakistan. I
am 28 years old. I completed my secondary school certificate from the Board of
intermediate and secondary education Sahiwal in 2013 securing 71% marks with grade A.
After that, I completed my Intermediate education from the same board securing 56%
marks in 2015. After that I got admission to Comsats University Islamabad for a Bachelor of
Science in Accounting and Finance I completed the degree by September 2019 securing a
CGPA of 2.42. I took the following courses in my final year at the university; Corporate
Governance, Accounting Information Systems, Strategic Management Accounting, Business
Management Information Systems, Entrepreneurship, Financial Econometrics, Strategic
Management Control and lastly industrial internship.

I got an internship opportunity at Engro foods, during my internship period at a leading

manufacturing organization in my country, I got a chance to see how businesses work, and
it made me realize the importance of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. I am working as an
Assistant Manager of Administration at King Fries from November 2019 to the present
date. My responsibilities include dealing with local and international stakeholders,
managing the production line and quality control. These experiences have not only helped
me learn about Management but also sparked my interest in business. Understanding how
different aspects come together in a company has made my journey better, and I've gained
practical skills that I believe will be beneficial for me as I think about venturing into
Entrepreneurship.

To enhance my knowledge in administration and management, I'm eager to pursue

education from an authorized foreign institution. Throughout my life, various experiences
have helped me gain practical knowledge, improve my communication skills, and develop
analytical abilities. English has been my main language of instruction during my bachelor's,
and I've spent years practicing and experiencing it. This exposure has significantly
improved my English proficiency. I feel confident in approaching even the most complex
technological issues in a professional and analytical manner. Pursuing foreign-accredited
education is a step forward for me, ensuring continuous improvement and a broader global
outlook in my chosen field.

I usually read novels or play badminton in my spare time. One of my favorite activities is
hanging out with my cat, Simmie, whom I keep as a pet. I also adore travelling to mountain
regions, and I frequently organize excursions with my loved ones and friends. But I find
happiness when I go alone. I feel medication while being with nature.

I come from a place where getting a Master's degree from a foreign university is seen as a
big achievement. In Pakistan, employers usually prefer managers with degrees from
outside the country. I did some research during my last semester at university and talked
to knowledgeable friends. It became clear to me that the education level in the UK is
unmatched globally. The country is diverse, welcoming to everyone, and the academic
facilities are top-notch. Many experts I look up to have earned their postgraduate degrees
from the United Kingdom.

The high standard of education in the UK played a big role in my decision to pursue a
postgraduate degree there. Specifically, the MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation program
at Bolton University caught my eye when I was exploring Entrepreneurship and Innovation
programs in the UK.

Choosing Bolton University for my postgraduate studies is rooted in its unique focus on
Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Recognizing the integral role of these skills for success
as an entrepreneur, I sought a program that not only provides a solid foundation in
business development but also emphasizes crucial interpersonal and critical thinking
abilities. Bolton University stands out by drawing expertise from various disciplines,
ensuring a well-rounded education that combines essential hard and soft skills essential for
a successful career.

What sets Bolton University apart is its commitment to offering a course that goes beyond
traditional boundaries. The MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation program not only
imparts extensive knowledge in these areas but also provides a distinctive blend of
business and leadership skills. The university's strong connections with regional and
national employers further enhance the learning experience, offering opportunities for
masterclasses, networking, and industry-based projects.

Choosing Bolton is also influenced by the vibrant and innovative environment of the North
West of England. The region's historical significance in the industrial revolution and its
current status as a hub for innovation make it an ideal setting for studying
Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Bolton University positions its graduates at the heart of
opportunities to transform innovative ideas into successful businesses. As I aspire to thrive
in this dynamic environment, Bolton University emerges as the ideal choice for my
academic and entrepreneurial journey.

My decision to pursue the MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation program at Bolton

University is deeply rooted in both my academic background and professional experiences.
During my last semester at university, I had the opportunity to delve into this course, and it
immediately captured my interest. Studying entrepreneurship not only broadened my
understanding of business dynamics but also ignited a passion for innovative approaches
to problem-solving and business creation.

My professional journey further solidified my inclination towards entrepreneurship.

Working in various roles, I witnessed firsthand the intricacies of business operations and
the significance of innovative thinking in achieving sustainable growth. This exposure
underscored the importance of entrepreneurship in navigating today's dynamic business
landscape and sparked my ambition to contribute as an entrepreneur.

The specific modules offered in the MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation program align
perfectly with my aspirations. Courses such as New Business Creation, Sustainable
Business Growth and Development, Business Literacy and Employment Skills, and
Solutions Driven Design and Practice resonate with my career goals. These modules
promise a well-rounded education, equipping me with the skills and knowledge needed to
become an effective entrepreneur.

In Pakistan, educational institutions often lack opportunities for market placements, unlike
UK institutions that offer a pathway to a brighter future. While the national government
has approved numerous business strategies for community and economic well-being, their
effectiveness hinges on adopting internationally accepted approaches. Upon completing the
MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation program, my goal is to contribute to the
development of management standards in Pakistan. By bringing international perspectives
and best practices to the local landscape, I aim to bridge the gap in professional
management expertise. This, in turn, will enhance the effectiveness of national business
strategies and contribute to the overall progress and well-being of my home country.

Upon completion of my MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Bolton University, I

plan to return to my home country. Armed with this degree, I anticipate that the specialized
knowledge and skills acquired will not only benefit me in pursuing various entrepreneurial
ventures but will also significantly contribute to the success of my own business.
Considering the harmony between my interests, future prospects, and qualifications,
coupled with the comprehensive offerings of your postgraduate study program, I am
genuinely enthusiastic and eager to embrace the challenges ahead, knowing that it will
equip me with the tools needed for effective entrepreneurship.

Yours sincerely,
Sofia Amin
