Description MMQ 44 is designed to be equally at home on the shop floor or
in an isolated inspection room. No air supply is required and its
MMQ 44 Formtesters are made from a wide variety of modules high-precision mechanical spindle and bearings ensure stability,
that are combined to meet your specific requirements. exceptional accuracy, and repeatability. Plus, MMQ 44 is designed
for easy installation, minimal maintenance, and low operating
All high-precision table-top MMQ 44 Formtesters have a measur- costs. Despite its compact size, this Mahr Formtester easily han-

and a horizontal linear axis (X-axis module) which comes either
as manual or automatic positioning axis or as measuring axis.

precision is in the range of microns. your operator, workpiece, and MMQ 44 are always protected.
Additional safety features include adjustable limit switches for

500 mm making it ideally suited for all applications.

The X-axis module (with lengths of either 180 mm or 280 mm)

governs the measuring volume. In addition, this module is avail-
able as a motorized positioning or high accuracy measuring axis.
A 100 mm adapter between the C- and the Z-axis module
adapts the machine base to the 280-mm-module.

For high-precision measurements on tiny workpiece geometries

or conical real surfaces requiring utmost positioning accuracy, the
motorized linear axes can be equipped with linear scales.

Different versatilities
A variety of options allows you to easily adapt MMQ 44 to your
special requirements. For example, the X-axis can be designed as
a horizontal measuring axis. For extremely precise workpieces,
the Z-axis linear scale provides exceptional positioning accuracy.
And you can increase your measuring volume to accommodate
unusually long workpieces or those with large diameters. The ro-
tary table has a standard weight capacity of 600 N (134.88 lbf).

Measurement probes for every application

Different measurement probes are available: the universal stan-
dard probe T2W, the precision probe T6W and the motor-driven
probe T7W. The probes come with clever accessories so they can
deliver optimum results for any application and meet any de-
mand on flexibility and automation.
For detail see page 3-20 f.

Performance
With MMQ 44, you can precisely measure the formfeatures
roundness, cylindricity, straightness, flatness and cone form, as
well as positionfeatures such as concentricity, coaxiality, radial
run-out, total radial run-out, axial run-out, total axial run-out,
parallelism, perpendicularity and angularity. A smashing range of
probe arms, styli and other accessories enables measurements
even on hard-to-access points on the workpiece. In addition, you
can easily measure and evaluate interrupted profiles. Grooves,
bore and the like are automatically identified during any (polar
or linear) measurement, irregardless of their location and are
excluded from evaluation.
MMQ 44 lets you take circular measurements on sections as small
as 15°.
The powerful FORM-PC software enables both – single measure-
ments and largely automated series measurements.

The Mahr FORM-PC

FORM-PC is the new measuring, control and evaluation system

for Mahr Formtesters. This easy-to-learn-and-operate software
runs under Microsoft Windows®.

The intuitive, graphical user interface uses icons for many operat-
ing functions and FORM-PC outputs reports to any standard
printer.

Easy handling

With Mahr FORM-PC, you’re always in control. With a few simple

mouse-clicks you can now position, set-up, measure, and docu-
ment your results. The overview is guaranteed because of the
graphical working surface.

Expressive icons allow you to activate a lot of functions with a

mouse-click. Also, you can examine measurement profiles as they
are taken – even interrupt the measurement if necessary. FORM-
PC is compatible with other Windows® -based programs and can
be customized to meet your specific requirements. Teach-in programming

Motor-driven T7W probe

The probe T7W is provided with a motor-driven axis of rotation.

The T7W probe features a motor-driven probe arm which can be
positioned in steps of 1°. The T7W probe as a zero position
probe enables automatic switch over between vertical
measurements on the inside and outside and horizontal
measurements on the top and bottom of an endface. This is the
reason why even the most complex measuring programs can be
run without operator intervention. In addition, special probe
arms with several styli are available which make it possible to use
several stylus geometries in one and the same program run.
