TEACHING STRATEGIES AND PROCEDURE

TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES STUDENT’S ACTIVITIES

A. Daily Routine
1. Prayer
Good morning, class!
Please remain standing for the prayer. A student will lead the prayer.

2. Greetings
Good morning/afternoon, class! Good morning/afternoon, Ma’am!

3. Classroom Management
Before you take your seats, kindly pick- (The student will pick up the pieces and arranged
up all the pieces of paper under your their chair properly before taking their seats.)
chairs and arranged your chairs
horizontally and vertically.

We have a RIUB class rule.

- Remain in your assigned seat unless
you have permission to get up.
- If you want to answer, don’t shout
out just raise your right hand.
- Using the restroom, raise your hand
and ask permission.
- Be prepared for class.

4. Checking Attendance
Do we have any absentees for today? The secretary of the class will answer.

5. Review of the past lesson

Before we proceed to our topic proper,
let’s have a recitation about the topic
yesterday.

I prepare here a Polygons; you’re going

to do is past it to your classmates while
the music is playing. Then once the
music is stopped the student who handle
the polygon will answer the questions.

Are my instruction is clear? Yes, Ma’am

1. What is the relationship of the interior angle Answer: b

to an exterior angle at the same vertex?
a. They are complementary.
b. They are congruent.
c. They are vertical angles.
d. They are supplementary.
2. Given the figure at the right, what is the
value of x? Answer: b
a. 8
b. 9
c. 10
d. 11

15x + 160 6x +29

3. Given the figure at the right, what

is the measure of ∠x? Answer: c
a. 145o
b. 225⁰
c. 45⁰ 135o
x
d. 55⁰

4. Given the figure at the right, what is the

Answer: a
measure of ∠k?
a. 128⁰
b. 28⁰
c. 298⁰
d. 228⁰

5. Given the figure at the right, what

is the value of y? Answer: c

a. 27
b. 28
c. 29
d. 30

It seems you already understand the

topic, let’s moved to the next topic 3.14
entitled CIRCLE.

B. Learning Task
1. ACTIVITY
But before we start, let’s have an
activity.

You will divided into four group

The learning materials is provided.
To be guided, answer the guide
questions.
You only have 5 minutes to do the task.

Guided questions:
1. Draw a diameter, center, chord and radius of the
circle.
2. Label it to determine the parts of a circle.
3. What can you say about the parts of a circle?
2. ANALYSIS
1.How did you find the activity?
2.How is a circle formed? Students answer may vary.
The circle formed by all the points that are the same
distance from a center point.
3.How did you describe each part of the circle?
Each part is called the segment of the circle. The
segment containing the minor arc is called the
minor segment and the segment containing the
major arc is called the major segment.

4.What is the relationship between radius and

diameter, diameter and a chord? The relationship between radius and diameter is
that the diameter is always twice the length of the
radius. The relationship between diameter and a
chord is that the diameter is the longest chord of
any circle, passing through the center, and its length
is greater than the length of any other chord in the
same circle.

3. ABSTRACTION
In this figure, Identify the following
parts on the circle

a. radius: ER
b. diameter: LC
c. center: E
d. chord: IF

A circle is the set of all points that are

the same distance from a
fixed point.
This fixed point is called the center of
the circle where all radii
meet.
A radius is a segment drawn from any
point on the circle to the
center.
A diameter is a segment that passes
through the center of a
circle.
A chord is a segment that connects any
two points of a circle. The diameter is
the longest chord of a circle and it is
twice the length of a circle’s radius.

On the circle O, identify the following

parts.

1. O
2. OP
3. QM Center
4. MN Radius
5. QN Chord
Diameter
4. APPLICATION Chord
Divide the circle below using the
following parts according to what you
value most (career, family, spiritual,
relationship, financial, and wellness):
center, radius, chord, and diameter.
C. EVALUATION
Directions: Read the question carefully and write the letter of the correct answer.

1. What is the definition of the center of a circle?

A) The point where the circle touches a straight line
B) The point in the middle of the circle
C) The point where the circle ends
D) The point where two chords intersect
2. Which of the following statements is true about the radius of a circle?
A) It is the distance across the circle through its center
B) It is always less than the diameter
C) It is a line segment joining two points on the circle's circumference
D) It is equal to twice the length of the diameter
3. If the diameter of a circle is 10 centimeters, what is its radius?
A) 5 centimeters
B) 10 centimeters
C) 20 centimeters
D) 15 centimeters
4. What is the relationship between the diameter and the radius of a circle?
A) The diameter is equal to the radius
B) The diameter is always greater than the radius
C) The diameter is always twice the length of the radius
D) The diameter is always half the length of the radius
5. Which of the following is a chord of a circle?
A) A line passing through the center of the circle
B) The distance across the circle through its center
C) A line segment joining two points on the circle's circumference
D) The distance from the center to any point on the circle's circumference

Answer key:
1.B
2. B
3. A
4. C
5. C

D. ASSIGNMENT
In a whole sheet of paper, create a Christmas decor using circle cut-outs.
