=Three weeks ago, I bought a running shoe from Nike’s, and it was my first time buying from

Nike online. The experience itself was great since the site was interactive and allowed me to look

for the product easily and compare it with other products without any frustration. The paying

process was also done fastly so overall all I was satisfied. Now for the reasons why I bought

them is that because they fulfill one of my physiological needs which is clothing and more

precisely footwear. Second reason was psychogenic needs and finally attitudes.

So, I purchased those running shoes first because I needed a footwear as I mentioned earlier, but

also for self-esteem needs. As I feel a sense of belonging and confidence while wearing them.

They go with most of my outfits as well as reflect more my personality, and I surely have a

feeling of accomplishment while wearing them.

The second reason is to fulfill my psychogenic needs. According to Murray’s theory people can

be divided into 5 categories: exhibition or materialistic, Affiliate people who get attached

easily, power dominance, change, order who like keep thing organized and finally ambitious.

and as a consumer I fall into the fourth and final category, which are people who like change and

that are ambitious. And since I am someone who seek change always and feel good when

overcoming problems. This is exactly what attracts me to Nike’s products because

it communicates exactly what I want and that shows in their motto: “Nike. Just Do It”. Another

thing that convinces me to purchase from this brand is the multiple ads I see by some of

my preferable celebrities, and football players.

Finally, we have attitude and intention that fall into the reasoned action theory. It explains how

intentions affect a person’s behavior and how attitudes towards behavior as well as behavioral

beliefs that can be individual, social, or information affect the buying decision of consumers.
For Nike’s sneakers I bought them because they are fashionable, they match my personality and

what I believe in. They also match my normative beliefs because neither my religion nor culture

prohibit it, they are also affordable and goes well with 18-25 age range. On a last note, the

site provides us, consumers, with the necessary information and there are also ads available on

their social media accounts. So, it was easy for me to find exactly what I was looking for.
