B. Motivation Read and understand the story.

Once upon a time, in a colorful garden, there was a

beautiful butterfly named Bella. She had wings of blue
and yellow, each side perfectly matched. One day,
Bella noticed her friend Rosie the bee struggling to
find nectar. Bella fluttered over and together they
found the sweetest flowers, working as a team. From
that day on, Bella and Rosie showed that when
friends work together, they can achieve anything.

C. Presentation Our lesson for today is all about Identifying and

Visualizing Symmetry in the Environment and in
Design.
D. Discussion Modelling:
1. Follow-up questions of the story:
 Who was the beautiful butterfly in the colorful
garden?
 Who was Bella's friend that she helped find
nectar?
 What did Bella and Rosie find together?
 What value can be applied in the story?
When Bella and Rosie worked as a team, they
showed unity by helping each other and achieving
their goal together. They demonstrated that when
friends come together, they can accomplish great
things.
 If I will draw a line down the center of a
butterfly's body, do you think both sides of its
wings are the still same size?
 Symmetry is when one shape becomes exactly
like another if you flip, slide, or turn it. It's like a
mirror image that reflects a shape perfectly
onto itself. Objects with symmetry have
balanced and identical parts on either side of a
dividing line or point.
 The broken line is called the line of symmetry.
 The shapes are called symmetrical shapes or
symmetrical designs.
 In a symmetrical design, the shape on one side
of the line of symmetry is a mirror reflection of
the shape on the opposite side of the line of
symmetry.

2. Provides more example and relates in real-life

situation.

E. Developing Mastery Guided Practice:

Look at each shape. Which drawing would complete
the other half?

F. Application Group Activity: (Each group will be given

necessary materials for the activity)
Make it Match: Symmetry
Group 1: Group 2: Group 3:

G. Generalization  Why is it important to understand symmetry?

 Do you think symmetry exist in our everyday
lives?
IV. Evaluation Tell whether the design is symmetrical or not. Put a ✓
on the blank for symmetrical designs and x if not.

V. Assignment Symmetry Hunt:

In your Math Notebook, write 2 objects around your
house or classroom that have symmetry. Draw each
object and identify the line of symmetry.
