ACTIVITY 2

Cite two topics in Abstract Algebra (except Modular Arithmetic) and explain by giving example.
Lastly, provide practical use of this topic ( or how these topics can be used in practical way).

Abstract Algebra is branch of mathematics that studies algebraic structures and the properties in
a general and abstract way. Aside from modular arithmetic, here are two of other fundamental topics in
abstract algebra, along with explanations, examples, and practical use:

1. GROUPS
Explanation A group is a set equipped with an operation that combines any two elements to
form a third elements, satisfying four properties; closure, associativity, identity, and invertibility.
Example The set of integers under addition forms a group. The integers are closed under
addition, addition is associative, the identity element is 0, and every integer has an additive
inverse.
