1. INSTALLATION

To start installation run file ”WA-hmi X.XX setup.exe”. Installation starts. Click Next
to continue.

Installation directory can be changed in this window. Installation to the default direc-
tory is recommended. Click Next to continue.

Installation program shows a summary of the installation settings. Click Install.

Installation is running.

2. CONFIGURATION

2.1. Adding a new device to WA-hmi

1. Start WA-hmi program. Use the shortcut on the desktop. Device selection win-
dow appears:

2. Click ”Add new device”. The following window is shown:

The settings of a WA-device are written in the fields of this window. A description
for each field is in the following table:

Parameter Description
Name Name of the device. Name is shown on the WA-hmi title
bar.

This name is needed when WA-hmi start icon is configured

to SCADA program or when a shortcut for a specific device

is configured to computer desktop.

Type Type of WA-hmi application and language.
IP-Address IP-address of the WA-device
Enable secondary This selection is selected if a backup connection is made
connection over serial bus.
COM-port Serial port of the computer.
Unit ID ID of the device in RS-485 bus.

3. OK button is pressed when all information is given. Now, there is a button for this
device in the scale selection page. WA-hmi for this device can be started by click-
ing text “Scale 1” or the button beside.

2.2. Setting mode

Details of devices in WA-hmi can be modified and devices can be removed only in
setting mode. Details are protected against accidental or intentional modifying.

“Delete” and “Modify” links below device texts are visible only in setting mode. WA-
hmi is in settings mode when it is started first time after installation and it has no
configured devices. Next times when program is run the setting mode can be acti-
vated by clicking text “Settings”. WA-hmi asks for a password before settings mode
can be activated. Password is stored inside the program and it can’t be changed.

WA-hmi setting mode password is “15801”

Password is entered in this window to the field reserved for it. “Login”-button must
be pressed after password is entered. Program keeps in setting mode until it is
closed.

2.3. Creating a shortcut for a specific device

Installation program creates a shortcut automatically to the desktop. A special

shortcut, which starts WA-hmi for a specific WA-device can be made if wanted. To
create a shortcut do this:

1. Take a copy of original WA-hmi shortcut.

2. Change the name of the new shortcut.

3. Click shortcut with right button and select Properties.

4. Add WA-device’s name to the end of the Target row. Put one blank after
quotation mark and then write device’s name. Select OK.
