Simple Past with Regular and Irregular Verbs


 Use the simple past to talk about past events like actions, states, or situations that are
finished.
 The simple past of regular verbs is formed by adding –(d) or –(ed) to the base form of the
verb.
 Many common verbs are irregular. Their simple past is changed.

Expressions: Yesterday, last week, last month, last year, an hour ago, this morning, in the
past, in 1989, When I was born, one week ago.
