Dalton Sand is playing for the
number one men’s rugby team in the
nation!
Dalton is the son of Josh and
Ronica Sand and is a graduate
of Glasgow High School and is
a freshman at the United States
Naval Academy in Annapolis,
Maryland. Sand decided to turn in
his swimming goggles and running
shoes for a mouth guard and cleats
and try out for the men’s Navy Rugby
team. The competition was tough,
and Sand, never having played the
sport before, pushed through with his
determination and dedication and
earned himself a spot on the Varsity
team as well as the travel team. They
are in the spring season, with playoffs
just around the corner.
Sand has earned himself a starting
position on the team. Sand’s position
is a Hooker that throws the line-outs
and is in the middle of the scrum.
Men’s Navy Rugby just became
an official D1 sport for the Navy in As you can see, the sport of rugby is not for the timid! And Dalton

On March 12th of this month, the Gateway Pundit
posted a story on the Annual White House Easter Egg
Roll.
It seems that the Ethical Treatment of Animals group
(PETA) sent a letter to “Dr” Jill Biden pressuring her
into foregoing eggs this Easter! Their solution is to use
potatoes for the White House annual Easter Egg Roll.
PETA wrote in a statement, Quote: “Ahead of
the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, PETA sent
a letter to Dr. Jill Biden today asking the first lady to
“modernize” the celebration by replacing eggs with
dyed Easter potatoes.”
“Children love animals and would be sad to learn
that the eggs used for fun and games at the White House
come from tormented hens whose lives are spent in
cages that afford them less space than a standard sheet
of typing paper” added PETA.
They went on to say “Beloved in all their wonderful
forms, potatoes are an American staple that make for
the perfect spudstitute for the thousands of eggs used in
the event, plus, these plentiful plants aren’t stolen from
exploited hens”!
PETA also stated, Quote: “Millions of chickens
suffer and die each year in the U.S. and that even farms
using “cage-free and “free-range labels keep chickens
in “cramped, filthy sheds where they can’t even stretch
their wings, root in the soil, or breathe fresh air.” BUT..
“in stark contrast, a potato roll would support the U.S.
potato farmers and teach tots that our fellow animals are
sensitive, feeling beings who deserve respect! Chickens
form complex social hierarchies and can recognize
more than 100 individuals of their own species! They
feel pain and fear, just as humans do!”
So far, the White House has not responded to
PETA’s request.
The article stated that due to high inflation and
avian flu, parents have switched to potatoes to save a
few bucks.
I guess, people could dye their potatoes for Easter
but if you are looking at those cute small potatoes as
saving money rather than buying eggs, you might have
a surprise!
A bit of History of why people celebrate Easter
with eggs…
Of course the main history reason was because
eggs represents new life and rebirth, hence the Christian
belief of Jesus’ crucifixion and celebrate his resurrection
on Easter Sunday.
And in Medieval times, eating eggs was forbidden
during Lent, so at Easter Sunday, it was a real treat to
eat an egg! Especially for the poorer people who could
not afford meat! The churches and even King Edward I
would hand out colored eggs as a special treat.
The egg roll was started in England during the 18th
century and still is a tradition, but, the most famous egg
roll (egg roll wrapper?..) is in Washington DC on the
White House lawn!
So, now you know why eggs were important on
Easter Sunday!
It sure doesn’t have the same ring to it when you
say “let’s roll the Easter Potato”, does it?
In my rebuttal of the aforementioned P.E.T.A.
statement of the “feelings” of the dairy product, does
not the potato have feelings? Scientists claim that plants
do have feelings.
So they take the lowly potato which has eyes, then
throw it into a potato bin where it is terribly dark so
it cannot see until the potato user opens the bin to
subject the potato to a blinding light! Then the potato
man/woman peels the skin off of the potato. “OUCH”!
Dammit! That hurt!
Not to mentioned exactly where the egg actually
departs the chicken’s body from….
Asininity in my mind.
Well, after all of this noteworthy news that the
progressive left has devised, in all seriousness aside,
P.E.T.A. from my and many others minds actually could
mean: “People Eating Tasty Animals”.

One night a man was
walking homewards when a
thief jumped on him all of a
sudden.
The man and the thief

tussle. They rolled about on
the ground, and the man put
up a tremendous fight, until
at last the thief managed to
get the better of him and
pinned him to the ground.
The thief then went
through the man’s pockets
and searched him all over.
There was only a 25-cents
coin he could lay his hands

The thief was so
surprised at this that he
asked the man why he had
bothered to fight so hard
just for a 25-cents.

They are currently 32-0, never having lost
a game, and as they make their way to play in
California this weekend and face off against
Berkeley, they hope to keep the streak going!
Sand was also selected to play in the Pacific
Island Diplomacy Tour this May. The team will be
playing 7-man rugby on this tour and will compete
in Figi, Samoa, and Tonga.
While Sand is busy with Rugby, his military
duties and his education, he has also earned the
honor of “Midshipman of the month for the first
Battalion”.
