Tell me a bit about yourself?

Hi my name is Ma. Angelica Postre, I’m 22 years old. I’m currently a student at Holy Angel
University and I’m majoring in management accounting.
I once volunteered to be a bookkeeper and an assistant on managing their finances on a private
resort in Tagaytay City. And since being involve in that environment, I’ve been learning the
basics and the analytical skills needed in accounting.
My goal is to be a certified management accountant, and I know that in order to get to that point,
I need to gain some more hands-on experience and advance my skills and qualities.

Why are you applying for this internship?

Like any other college student, I applied for this internship because of the potential to grow my
skill set in accounting in a professional environment. And I believe that this internship will help
me develop my strong work ethic and my team working skills that is aligned to my career goals.
I’d want an Internship as a kind of look into the future and of course it would be terrific
experience and as a management accounting major I started looking at potential employers and
when I came across on general motors, I learned that the current center activities are focused
on Accounting, Finance and Human Resources functions and it impressed me so about this
internship, I really wanted to apply for it, because it is within my scope and of course I will learn
invaluable skills from professionals.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Self-motivated
Passion for learning
Self-motivation, commitment and desire to learn are my biggest assets. When I commit to a
deadline, I do whatever it takes to deliver. I’ll always get the job done and I’ll always get it done
right.
I always try to improve on everything I do, be it at school or outside of it. So I may be too critical
on myself.
My weakness is lack of experience. Of course, I’m earning my degree on management
accounting and I excelled in my classes, but I have to learn a lot to bridge this gap. But I see it
as something temporary.
I personally don’t think this is a weakness but, I’ve been told that I can be too direct. I’m a strong
believer in cutting to the chase, but now, I’m focused on being more diplomatic and empathetic
when it comes to my communication style.
While I still believe that constructive criticism is necessary, I attempt to express it in a gentler
manner and to balance it with plenty of positive feedback.

What do you plan to do during your internship?

First and foremost, I want to use my skills and qualities to contribute to your company and of
course by being productive and assisting the team whenever possible.
I also want to learn from the company how this industry works and what has made the
organization successful

What are your plans after you finish this internship and graduate from school?
Actually after this internship and when I have my Bachelor’s degree, I am going to enroll in a
review school for my CMA board exam preparations. After I passed hopefully the CMA board
exam providing you are happy with my performance during the internship, I would very much
like to get my career under way with your company, if the opportunity arises.

What can you offer me that another person can’t?

I know there are other candidates who could fill this position, but my passion for excellence sets
me apart from the pack. I am committed to always producing the best results.

What have you learned in your college classes that will help you with this position?

I’ve learned many things in my college years that I think will help me with this internship. My college
classes have thought me a great deal about financial reporting, income and business tax both of which I
understand to be very important in the field of accounting.

It wasn’t easy making it through these years of studying but I do think that the strong work ethic that I
gained through my classes will help me excel in an internship position at your company.

What motivates you?

There are number of things that motivates me. First I have a personal drive to achieve my goals or to
meet certain standards and im very motivated by the sense of accomplishment and self-actualization

Motivate them, cheer them up in this school online set up situation
Leadership is not just about management and initiative. It’s also about the ability to spread ideas
and passions to other people in your team.

Describe a Difficult Situation and How You Handled It?

When I volunteered to be a bookkeeper of a private resort, the owner asked me to fix their
financial records in a way that they can easily understand and operate. I had never done that
before, but I embraced the challenge. I first started to separate to records by dates and months.
And when I reached the latest transactions, I’ve noticed many misplaced accounts, transactions
that is not noted and so on. I was able to settle their financial records, make them knew the
profit and loss they made and that impressed the owner.
