Definitions:
Social Media: A technological social platform that allows people to interact, communicate, share
information. Express your opinion and market and advertise their products and services.

Audience:
Employees (Part-time, casual, contract, consultants board of directors, shareholders, management and
executive management)

Purpose:
That business information remains confidential. It guides and all stakeholders linked to the organization in
terms of social media usage and to avoid any legal issues.

Guidelines:
1) All employees or stakeholders need to adhere to these guidelines at all times.
2) Anyone found breaching the guidelines in this policy will attract disciplinary action and code of conduct
will apply.
3) No employee or stakeholder can post any negative or discriminatory comments about the company or
its subsidiaries on social media
4) All employees before posting any advertisements must seek approval from line managers.
5) No employee is allowed to post any sensitive information to social media that includes screenshots
6) No social media usage during working hours. Any use during working hours need to seek prior approval
using the approval process.
7) Prior to posting pictures on social media stakeholders need to seek permission first from line managers.
8) Amy response to negative or defamatory comments shall be reported to the marketing
(communications) department. Marketing will formulate and respond to comments.
9) All employees are expected to use social media in a secure way which is in the best interest of the
organization.
10) Employees personal opinions are not to tarnish the organisation
11) Employees are to alert the Information Technology department of any malware.
