About the Trust
Hindusthan Educational and Charitable Trust (HECT) was established in the year 1992 with a
vision to serve the poor & needy of the society. This realization embarked the journey of HECT - in
1998 with the establishment of Hindusthan College of Arts & Science (HICAS), one of the finest
Arts & Science College in Tamil Nadu which still remains the flagship institute of the group. An
initial step taken by a great visionary Shri. T.S.R.Khannaiyann, who nurtured a strong conviction to
provide the best of education to the society has resulted in a strong educational realm.
HINDUSTHAN Group today boasts of the best infrastructure facilities and application of varied
teaching methodologies. With highly qualified and dedicated teachers, the group has grown leaps
and bounds and will continue to do so looking for both horizontal and vertical growth.

About the College


Hindusthan College of Arts & Science (HICAS) was established by Hindusthan Educational
& Charitable Trust in 1998, with the primary objective of providing Education for deserving students
irrespective of caste and creed. HICAS stands out in academic excellence and is most preferred by
the students among the best colleges. The broad objective of HICAS is to provide world class
education to the students to face global challenges and to inculcate the values and adopting latest
trends in technological advancement, to cater to the environmental needs and ethical values in the
mind of students to become good citizens and entrepreneurs. The mission of the college is to pursue
a philosophy of perpetual acquisition of knowledge. The important policy is to provide value based
education and to bring out the hidden potential in students in order to equip them to approach life
with optimism. The college has been accredited by NAAC in 2014.HICAS was conferred
autonomous status by the UGC in June, 2016 and the DBT awarded STAR College status in 2017.

Scholarship Policy
Today, Education for all has become the order of the day and keeping in view, the
Management makes sure that education is affordable to all and it provides financial support for the
students to become graduates and post graduates. The management also helps to create a conducive
environment to the students so that they can concentrate on their studies without worrying about
financial matters. Further, the management also provides financial assistance on the basis of
academic and sports achievements and also to the wards of those who are in the front line of national
security (Defence and Police). The following table shows the scholarship schemes available to the
students admitted in HICAS
