Communist International (III International) (1919 – 1943)

I. Establishment

1. Circumstances of the birth of the International III

There were two conditions that led to the formation of the Third International.

- The bankruptcy of the Second International caused the labor movement to be


organizationally divided, the working class no longer had a unified organization to direct
the movement. The Second International was divided into right, middle, and left factions,
causing a similar division within some Parties.

- Second, the world revolutionary movement developed into a new climax due to the
direct influence of the Russian October Revolution in 1917. In 1918, a series of
communist parties appeared such as the Communist Party of Argentina and Finland. ,
Austria, Hungary, Poland, Germany. The victory of the Russian October Revolution
marked the victory of the working class, directly creating conditions for promoting the
establishment of the Communist International.

2. International Founding Congress III

The founding congress of the Third International was held in Moscow from March 2 to 6,
1919, with 51 delegates representing 30 countries attending. The establishment of the
Communist International had a special significance for the movement. international
communist and workers' movement. It contributed to accelerating the formation of
Communist Parties in many countries. The Third International was born, marking the
victory of Marxism-Leninism with opportunism and revisionism. All genuine
revolutionary parties were united under the banner of the Third International - the
leadership center of the international communist and workers' movement, whose core
was the Russian Bolshevik Party and Lenin.

II. Activities of the Third International through Congresses.

1. The Second Congress of the Third Communist International met from July 19 to
August 7, 1920 in Petrograd and Moscow, with 217 delegates from 67 organizations in 37
countries attending.

-The influence of the Russian October Revolution pushed the revolutionary climax to its
peak. A series of communist parties were born: the American Communist Party (1919),
Spain (1920), England (1920). However, the revolutionary movement has revealed
limitations due to the lack of reputable leaders and leadership experience.

-Although many communist parties have been born, the international communist
movement is influenced by the left and right trends of opportunistic leaders in the
Second International. In particular, young parties often lead to ''left'' tendencies. Faced
with that situation, Lenin wrote the work "Left-oriented childishness in the communist
movement", clearly stating the dangers of right-wing opportunism, right-wing
opportunism, and left-wing tendencies" clearly manifested in the German and German
communist movements. Older brother. He analyzed the necessity of the proletarian
political party before and after the proletariat won, refused to participate in reactionary
union activities, opposed participating in the bourgeois parliament, etc.
=>The Second Congress of the Third International consolidated and united the ranks of
the communist parties, armed the parties with goals, tasks and methods of struggle,
contributing to making the communist parties in the countries formation and
development.
