Espedido- PSDS- Reading and ELLN Coordinator Public Schools District Supervisors Elementary and Secondary School Principals ELLN, Reading and Pagbasa District and Cluster Coordinators & Consultants All Others Concerned Subject: CONDUCT OF THE READING REMEDIATION / INTERVENTION DUBBED AS EIGHT-WEEK READING CURRICULUM FOR THE STRUGGLING READERS Date 27 WL 2021 1 In response to the challenge on “Bawat Bata Bumabasa (3 Bs Initiative ) pursuant to Deped Memorandum Number 173 series 2019, this Office advises the Schools Division Offices (SDOs) to conduct reading remediation/ intervention for the learners who are considered as non-readers and frustrations level readers. 2. This activity is dubbed as Eight-Week Reading Curriculum which is to be implemented on the months of August and September, 2021. This Office enjoins the District and Clustered High School Public Schools District Supervisors to ensure that the schools are implementing the said remediation’ intervention with the goal of improving the reading status of the struggling readers before they will proceed to another grade level for the next school year. ‘Address: Elpidio Quirino Avenue, Davao City Telephone No: (082) 224-3274, (082) 222-1672 E-mail: davao.city@deped.gov.oh Republic of the Philippines Department of Education REGION XI SCHOOLS DIVISION OF DAVAO CITY 3. ‘The District and Clustered High School Public School District Supervisors are encouraged to set their own schedule, the daily activities to undertake, the reading materials, and the kind of modalities in order to deliver and implement the said program compliant to the health protocols and restriction of the Local Government Unit ( LGU) against COVID-19. 4. To provide virtual Technical Assistance and to monitor the conduct of this activity the Public Schools District Supervisors are assigned to monitor and submit online reports to the Division Reading and ELLN Focal Person. The tool will be provided in the Google sheets. 5.
