Overview

Bellcity Farms owns and operates large scale farms in the US, transitioning land to USDA
certified organic, and operating them in line with regenerative principles. Bellcity
believes that regenerative farming provides an opportunity to produce healthy food,
while having a positive impact on soil health, biodiversity, carbon emissions and local
communities, as well as delivering compelling financial returns for investors. In 2019,
Bellcity raised a $100 million investment fund to acquire 10,000 – 15,000 acres of
farmland by 2021, spread among 5-8 farms in the Midwest and other parts of the US.
The wider Belltcity group has successfully raised and invested ca. US$500m into
sustainable infrastructure in the US and UK since 2013.

Bellcity Farms is looking for a Farm Manager to lead our farming activities at our Kinderhook Farms
in Stuyvesant, New York.

Bellcity Farms owns and operates large scale farms in the US, transitioning land to USDA certified
organic and operating them in line with regenerative principles. Bellcity believes that regenerative
farming provides an opportunity to produce healthy food, while having a positive impact on soil
health, biodiversity, carbon emissions and local communities, as well as delivering compelling
financial returns for investors. Bellcity acquired its first farm in 2019 and aims to grow to 100,000
acres by 2029, spread across the US.

ABOUT KINDERHOOK FARM


Bellcity Farms operates ~1,200 acres in Columbia County where it grows wheat, corn, soybeans,
barley and alfalfa using regenerative practices. First acquired in 2020, the farm grows primarily
organic grain and hay crops.

SUMMARY OF JOB

Farming Operations: Coordinating and developing farm employees; managing spreading, tillage,
planting, cultivating, and harvest operations; balancing production with regenerative ag practices;
conditioning and drying of grain; adoption of farm software’s and farm technologies.

Farm Business Management: Budget creation and procurement of supplies and materials; excellent
record keeping; inventory management and logistics; preparing reports on operational and financial
performance of the farm; maintaining positive business and community relationships

As the ideal candidate for this position, you will have MUCH OF the following experience and
skills:

- Required: Leadership and mentoring of farming team

- Hands on management of large-scale farming operations, ideally organic

- Development and management of crop plan

- Budgeting, P&L management

WHO YOU ARE:

- Ability to make decisions in complex environments and to react to shifting priorities

REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to work additional hours during Harvest seasons

- Valid Driver’s License; clean driving record

- DOT Physical (upon hire) and pass background checks

- High School Diploma

- A valid Passport for international applicants

4. Management Skills: Farm managers need strong leadership and organizational skills to oversee
farm operations effectively. This includes managing personnel, budgeting, scheduling, and
coordinating activities.

5. Problem-solving Abilities: Farms face various challenges, such as weather fluctuations, pest
infestations, and equipment breakdowns. Farm managers must be adept at troubleshooting
problems and implementing solutions quickly.

6. Business Acumen: Understanding the business side of farming is crucial for success. This includes
knowledge of market trends, pricing strategies, financial management, and risk assessment.

7. Communication Skills: Farm managers need to effectively communicate with staff, suppliers,
customers, and stakeholders. Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential.

8. Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with modern farming technologies and equipment, such as
GPS-guided tractors, irrigation systems, and agricultural software, is increasingly important in
modern farming operations.

9. Physical Stamina Farm managers often work long hours outdoors and may need to perform
physically demanding tasks. Good health and physical fitness are beneficial for this role.

10. Passion for Agriculture: A genuine interest in farming and agriculture is essential for a
successful career as a farm manager. Dedication to the industry and a love for working with plants
and animals are valuable traits.

11. Networking Skills: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, customers, industry

Physical DEMANDS

- Working outdoors and walking on uneven terrain

- Ability to work in dusty conditions

- Ability to sit, climb and balance as well as bend and kneel frequently

- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds or more occasionally.
Twisting with weight as needed.

- Manual dexterity, coordination and constant movement and use of limbs required.
