VALUES EDUCATION LESSON PLAN:
January 12, 2024 (WEEK 1)
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
Knowledge: Define respect and kindness.
Skills: Identify examples of respectful and kind behavior.
Attitude: Develop a sense of respect and kindness towards others.
III. Procedure
A. Reflective Thinking Activities (15 minutes)
1.Opening Activity (5 minutes): Begin the lesson by asking students to share their
thoughts on what respect and kindness mean to them. Write their responses on
the whiteboard.
2.Group Discussion (10 minutes): Divide the class into small groups. Provide each group with
a scenario illustrating either respect or kindness. Ask them to discuss the scenario and
come up with examples of respectful or kind behavior. Afterward, have each group share
their findings with the class.
Homework: Assign students to write a short paragraph about a time when they witnessed or
experienced an act of respect or kindness. They should be prepared to share their stories in
the next class.

1. Opening Activity (5 minutes): Begin the lesson by asking students to share their thoughts on
what empathy means to them. Write their responses on the whiteboard.
2. Empathy Scenario Discussion (10 minutes): Provide the class with a scenario involving a
person in a difficult situation. Ask students to reflect on how they would feel in that
person's shoes and what actions they would take to show empathy.
1. Divide the class into pairs. Provide one student in each pair with a story or problem they
are currently facing. Instruct the other student to practice empathetic listening, asking
open-ended questions and providing emotional support without offering solutions.

back together and ask students to share their experiences with empathetic listening.
Discuss the feelings and reactions of both the speaker and listener.
Reflection (5 minutes):
1. Lead a class discussion about the importance of empathy in understanding and helping
others. Encourage students to share how they felt when someone showed empathy
towards them and when they demonstrated empathy themselves.
Reinforcement (5 minutes): Summarize the key points of the lesson on the chart paper, focusing on
the concept of empathy and its significance. Display it in the classroom as a reminder.
Homework: Assign students to interview a family member or friend about a challenging situation
they've faced and to practice empathetic listening during the conversation. In the next class, they
should share what they've learned.
