Rescue plan notes:
Rescue preparation (shall be completed prior to start the activity):
 Safety perimeter must be designated and clearly indicated to identify a safe zone of the work.
 Entry observer will complete required confine space entry documents.
 Full body harness: All personnel entering the wall pit must wear full body harness.
 Gas tester must be onsite at all time to determine safe LEL & Oxygen level prior to entry and after long breaks.
 All entry- personnel and rescue personnel should have valid training to entry and rescue.
 Identify- one rescue back up team member who shall notify via radio/PAGA to IFCC to activate emergency alarm and

announcement, subsequently Contractor rescue team will execute rescue operations.

Rescue execution (In event of emergency requiring rescue assistance).


 Contractor rescue team will function as rescuer
 PA will identify safety perimeters to control personnel movement and hazard control under the direction of the
OSC.
 Gas Tester must confirm safe LEL & Oxygen Level prior to entry.
 Rescue Team will operate under a “Buddy System”.
 Backup Team must ready themselves to support once needed.
 Rescue Team makes entry into the Wall pit – immediately evaluates the situations and determines the
extrication/rescue methods to be utilized. Extrication/Rescue methods include:
o Contractor rescue team will utilize SCBA to enter the wall pit during rescue operations.
o Utilize the rope connected to the body harness to extricate the victim to the Medical Team. (If Needed)
o Rescuers will bring the victim near man way entry and Two (2) Rescuers extricate the victim from outside
wall pit man way.
 Following extraction from the wall pit by the Rescue Team, TRT will assist Medical with transport of the casualty to
a designated triage point.
