Description Priority

 Work at height (work on fixed and mobile scaffolds and use of MEWP (scissor lift, forklift) at
height of 4-16 meters, Installation of supports, fire lines, and fittings, wall coring)
 Scaffolding materials will be sound and rigid.
 The ground will be ensured level using timber sole and crew jacks while erecting scaffolds.
 All scaffolding erection and dismantling will be done by competent person.
 Ladder will be placed at 75 degree angle and secured to the scaffold minimum 3 places.
 Ladder will be fixed to scaffold by ladder clamp or ‘C’ clamp.
 Ladder will be 3 rungs above the landing/working platform.
 Damaged scaffold materials will not be used and will be identified and removed immediately
from the work place.
 Will ensure 3 point contact while climbing ladder.
 Fall prevention will contain top rail and mid rail.
 Scaffold will be provided with toe board for protection from falling objects
 Overreaching from scaffolds will not be allowed.
 No throwing of materials from above or below scaffolds.
 Scaffolds will be used on firm and level surface
 Full body harness with shock absorbing lanyard will be used for height works more than 1.8 mtrs.
 Competent scaffolding inspector will inspect the scaffold and put green tag before work begins.
 No placing of ladder or any such material to reach extra heights.
 While working at height, always remain within the confine of the platform.
 Never sit, stand or climb on the handrails( over reaching will not be allowed)
 Loose materials will not be carried in hand while climbing the ladder of scaffold. 1
 Fixed scaffolds will be erected with 1:3 widths, height ratio.
 Fixed scaffolds will be ensured to be plumb, level and square with all connections secured
strongly.
 Fixed scaffoldings will be provided with horizontal and diagonal brazing.
 Mobile scaffolding will not be recommended for works more than 4 mtrs height.
 Mobile and fixed scaffolds will be erected with 1:3 widths, height ratio.
 Mobile and fixed scaffolds will be ensured to be plumb, level and square with all connections
secured strongly.
 Mobile and fixed scaffoldings will be provided with horizontal and diagonal brazing.
 Castor wheel without damages will be used for mobile scaffold.
 Castor wheel will have locking mechanism and ensured locked while working and storing for
the day.
 Will not allow employees to stay on mobile scaffold while changing positions.
 Castor wheel will be secured to scaffold with locking pins.
 Ground will be ensured to be level and without any holes on ground or materials before
erection or moving mobile scaffold.

 MEWP will be operated by competent employee.


 Will not overload boom lift
 operate on level and firm surfaces
 MEWP will be inspected daily and checklist maintained.
 MEWP will have valid TUV certification.
 Overreaching from scaffolds, MEWP, will not be allowed.
 Safety harness with shock absorbing lanyard will be used when working above 1.8m
height
 While working at height, always remain within the confine of the platform.
 Never sit, stand or climb on the handrails( over reaching will not be allowed
 Will barricade the area and maintain good housekeeping and place sign boards until
work finish
 Will ensure suitable use of PPEs. Use of FB harness for all height work.

Hot work (drilling, cutting, grinding ,support fixing)

 Hot work will be done after getting PTW and the same will be displayed in the work location.
 Perform hot work in a safe location or combustible materials removed or covered.
 Barriers will be provided near the hot work area wherever possible.
 Use guards (Flash screen with fire blanket) to confine the heat, spark and to protect the
immovable fire hazards.
 Make suitable fire extinguishing (CO2 and DCP) equipment immediately available in a state
or readiness.
Assign additional personnel (fire watch) to guard against fire while hot work is being
performed.
 Only skilled work force will be used for carrying out all the hot work.
 Ensure all the components of tools are in good condition and transported safely to the work
location.
 Protective clothing, face shields, gloves and goggles will be used while doing hot work.
 Wall coring area will be barricaded and signage provided.
 Unauthorised person entry will be restricted.

Use of power tools (angle grinder, drilling machine, wall coring machine cable drum,
etc.)
 Ensure that all electric equipment selected for workers is safe for work activities and used for
their intended purpose.
 All cables ensured to double insulated.
 Three pin plugs with earthing will be used for electrical equipment.
 Any defective equipment will be reported immediately to the responsible person and removed
from site.
 Power will be drawn through DB provided at site with RCD of rating 30 mA/ 3ms.
No person will be allowed to do any kind of repair work except competent electrician.
 Cable will be routed away from wet surfaces.

 Tapping of fire fighting lines to existing fire line, flushing of pipes, hydro testing. 1
 Tapping of fire line will be only carried out after taking fire impairment through fire and
safety department.
 Flushing and hydro testing area will be barricaded.
 Proper signage will be placed.
 Unauthorised entry will be restricted.
 Activity carried out with supervision.

 Touch up painting works for fire lines


 Paining will not be carried out near hot work area.
 Paints and thinners will not be stored at site or near hot work area.
 Small quantities paint of daily requirement is taken to site and returned after work finished or
end of the day.
 Proper PPE will be worn by employees while painting including mask, gloves, full sleeved
uniform, goggles etc.
 Other Hazards
 Access and egress provided, site will be kept organized, will comply with & follow safety
standard in all works.
 Work area and material storage area will be barricaded and signage provided.
 Contractor safety will do inspections for safe system of various works, will give briefing on
hot work, trip fall, fire, collapse, and work at height etc.
 Cable will be routed away from walkways for avoiding trip hazards, unauthorised movement
restricted.
 Housekeeping will be done on daily basis and maintained throughout.
 Sufficient manpower used while material shifting manually and while cable pulling.
 Will provide appropriate PPEs for employees.

 Sufficient drinking water will be provided at site.


 All equipment used will be by competent employees, sufficient man power used for task.

 Risk communicated to all employees. All equipment’s and power tools used as per
manufacturers design, site safety will conduct periodic safety inspections.
 All near miss and injuries will be reported.
 Materials stored at client designated area under barricade.
 No unauthorised person will be allowed to enter working area.
 Work will be supervised closely by Site Engineer and safety officer.

 Use of fire extinguishers known by all employees. All employees ensured knowledge in safe
work procedures,
 PPE’s such as hard hat, reflect jacket, safety shoes, goggles, face mask, gloves, filter mask,
rubber gloves, full body harness with shock absorbing lanyard etc. will be used
 All task done with safety standards,
 Will remove excess materials from site. Contractor safety will do periodical inspections for
safe system of various work, will give briefing on trip fall, fire, collapse, collision and various
work related topics etc. 3
 First aid box and trained first aider made available at site.
 Vehicle will be provided at site for emergency requirements.

Priority Status:
High: Risk being addressed is serious; action/control required urgently/immediately
Medium: Potentially serious, remedial action should be taken within agreed timetable
Low: Minor risk. Implement if/when resources allow.
