A. Content Standard
To analyze literature as a mirror to a shared heritage of people with
diverse backgrounds.

B. Performance Standard
The learners should be able to explain how the elements specific to a
genre contribute to the theme of a particular literary selection.

C. Learning Competency
At the end of the lesson, the students are able to:
a. define literature and its elements
b. appreciate the culture reflected in the text with other cultures
c. write a composition appreciating literature as a reflection to a shared
heritage of people.
