the corresponding value of 𝑦 = −3. Draw a neat sketch of the graph,
showing any intercepts with the axes. (3)

6.2 It is given that the general equation of a parabola 𝑡(𝑥) = 𝑝𝑥 2 + 𝑞 .


It is further given that 𝑝 > 0 and 𝑞 < 0. Use this information to draw a
neat rough sketch of the parabola, giving the turning point in terms of
𝑝 and/or 𝑞. No values need to be given to the intercepts with the x-axis. (3)
