In a Nutshell
NOMAD is a comprehensive, full-service marketing, advertising, and web development firm
based in Rwanda & Uganda. Established in 2012, NOMAD has deep experience in all media
and aspects of marketing.

Inspired by Nomadic pastoralists who will go anywhere to find the best pasture for their
animals, NOMAD prides in its readiness to do all it takes to create the best brands. Notable
areas of expertise include: brand design and development, creative media strategies and
placement, print and interactive design, social networking and online marketing, creative and
technical writing. We define strategic plans, design campaigns and – most importantly – we
develop relationships.

Philosophy
At Nomad we are devoted to discovering more effective ways to communicate with our
client’s target markets. This means constantly digging, probing, learning and experimenting
with alternative solutions. We determine and execute the tasks it takes to promote our
clients, their brands, their products, their events, and their people.

We help our clients identify goals, and then we take responsibility for providing cross-
platform tactics to accomplish them. We work within budget constraints and we meet
deadlines. Creativity is our hallmark and we deliver results. NOMAD has evolved with its
clients, with the marketplace, and with technology. Our experience and capabilities enable
us to advise and guide our clients to achieve success more efficiently than trial and error
methods.

The Nomad Approach
NOMAD has a collaborative creative process to engage and consult with clients early and often
throughout the creative process. This presentation is a general case and demonstrates typical project
development steps. NOMAD will always accommodate and deliver work within the timeframe
allocated, adjusted to the process as required. Meetings will happen in person, on the phone or via
our online project management portal. Furthermore, our process allows for creative participation by
our clients on every project.

Discovery
We start by emailing, talking to or meeting with our clients to talk about what they want to
accomplish. With a clear understanding of the objectives and scope of the project NOMAD produces
an estimate prior to commencing work. Estimates are subject to review the same as anything else.
Therefore it’s natural to answer questions or make a revision or two before we get client approval.

Creative & Planning

With the big ideas firmly in hand, the creative team and copywriters start to work out the concepts.
Research and background information are handed over from the account manager and photography
acquired as needed. The art and account directors ensure that the client’s history; marketing strategy
and brand standards are consistently applied. We prefer to present concepts in person, discuss the
relative strengths and go over how it meets the project objectives. The account manager and creative
director are both there to answer any questions the client may have.

Refine
A good back-and-forth with our clients is a healthy part of any project’s development. We work with
our clients to incorporate their feedback until we have final artwork ready to move forward with.

Execute
The media plan can include printing executions, advertising buys, online adaptations or any other
campaign tactic. Each tactic is presented to our clients as a stand-alone project. The goal is a cohesive
campaign that conveys the intended message consistently across all media. As in the refining stage,
we work back-and-forth with our clients to revise and finalize each part of the campaign. Press ready
files are then created and sent to suppliers and publications.

Follow Up
The project isn’t complete until we have it in hand or in-market. Your account manager is in constant
contact with suppliers to ensure execution happens on schedule and to our quality expectations.

Once complete, our account team comes back to the client to review the successes, challenges and
results of the campaign. That way we can apply these lessons to our future work.
