Definition of Terms and Acronyms

Crime mapping is a geographic information system (GIS) technique used by law


enforcement agencies and researchers to visually represent and analyze crime data. It
involves the process of plotting and displaying various types of crimes, incidents, or
criminal activities on a map, typically using specialized software.

Crime prevention refers to a range of strategies, measures, and actions aimed at


reducing or deterring criminal activities within a community or society. The primary
goal of crime prevention is to proactively address the root causes and risk factors that
contribute to criminal behavior, with the aim of decreasing the incidence of crimes
and enhancing overall public safety. Crime prevention can take various forms and
may involve government agencies, law enforcement, community organizations, and
individuals working together to achieve its objectives.

Crime control refers to a set of strategies, policies, and actions undertaken by law
enforcement agencies and the criminal justice system to prevent, deter, and reduce
criminal activities within a society or community. The primary objective of crime
control is to maintain public safety and order by minimizing and managing criminal
behavior. This concept emphasizes the importance of detecting, apprehending, and
punishing individuals who engage in illegal activities to discourage others from doing
the same.

Crime prevention policies and programs are a set of government and community
initiatives, strategies, and actions designed to reduce the occurrence of criminal
activities, enhance public safety, and minimize the risk factors that contribute to
criminal behavior. These policies and programs are aimed at preventing crime from
happening in the first place or intervening early to address the root causes of criminal
conduct. They play a crucial role in maintaining law and order within a society and
promoting the well-being of its residents.

Analysis of Data
The study shall involve the use of a qualitative survey which shall be answered by
respondents from three key sectors: personnel from the Amadeo Municipal Police
Station, Local Government Unit personnel, and the residents of the Municipality of
Amadeo. Key informants shall also be interviewed to allow a wider berth of the
research study at hand.

The survey questionnaire shall consist of questionnaires related to Research,


Integration, and Utilization Model and how does it factor into the Municipality of
Amadeo, Cavite. The questionnaire will be of how the data has been gathered
(Research) and how it was incorporated into the Crime Mapping system & policy
formulation in the local government (Integration) and finally result into the effects of
the policy into the community at large upon its implementation (Utilization). It shall
be of two parts wherein the Part 1 of the Research would be the Demographic Profile
of respondents and Part II for the Survey Question proper.
