Indian Navy officials have said that over 30 pirates are present on the hijacked ship off the

east coast of
Somalia amid the ongoing rescue operation. "Indian Navy has established communication with the crew of the
merchant vessel. The 15-plus crew are from Bulgaria, Angola and Myanmar," officials added. The operation is
expected to be over soon.

Over 100 workers are feared injured due to a boiler explosion in a factory in Haryana's Rewari on Saturday
evening. Several workers sustained burn injuries in the blast and at least 30 of them were rushed to local
hospitals, according to a report. Fire engines and ambulances were reportedly rushed to the factory.

The Election Commission while announcing the dates for the Lok Sabha elections said that political parties
should not use children for election campaigning. Polls will begin on April 19 and will take place in seven
phases. The counting of votes in all the Lok Sabha constituencies will be held on June 4.

A video shared by the Indian Navy shows a Somali pirate firing at an Indian Navy chopper as it approached a
hijacked ship off the east coast of Somalia. The Indian Navy's deployed warship successfully intercepted the
Bangladeshi ship, which was hijacked by pirates in December 2023, on March 15. "The pirates...have been
called upon to surrender," the Navy said.
