and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD

had shut them

up? And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto
great Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote
them, until they left them none remaining. A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful
[witness] speaketh lies. In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer
me. Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and
see what [is] this that goeth forth. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do
not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. I
said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for [there is] a time there
for every purpose and for every work. And who [is] he that will harm you, if ye be followers of
that which is good? And she took [it] up, and went into the city: and her mother in law saw what
she had gleaned: and she brought forth, and gave to her that she had reserved after she was
sufficed. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy
remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time
with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all
these things? He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the
ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. And David arose, and he passed over with
the six hundred men that [were] with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath. So
concerning them Moses commanded Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief
fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel: And Moses said unto them, If the children of
Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over Jordan, every man armed to battle, before
the LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of Gilead
for a possession: But if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions
among you in the land of Canaan. So the house of Israel shall know that I [am] the LORD their
God from that day and forward. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have
wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Let it be unto him as the garment [which] covereth
him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually. And the sons of Noah, that went forth
of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham [is] the father of Canaan. Six days shall
work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the
LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. And he cried unto the LORD, and said,
O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her
son? Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to
wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. And when I beheld, lo, the
sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but [there was] no
breath in them. And the LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled
bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them. And king Solomon made a navy of ships in
Eziongeber, which [is] beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom. For the
waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: for the hay is withered away, the grass faileth, there is no
green thing. For he will not lay upon man more [than right]; that he should enter into judgment
with God. And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto
the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of
the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only. And he commanded the foremost, saying, When Esau my
brother meeteth thee, and asketh thee, saying, Whose [art] thou? And Abimelech rose up, and all
the people that [were] with him, by night, and they laid wait against Shechem in four companies.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin,
because he is born of God. And that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread shall ye burn
with fire. And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let
all the angels of God worship him. And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain
of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, [saying], Ye shall not give
your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves. By
thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my
praise [shall be] continually of thee. And Hezekiah wept sore. And Jephthah said unto the elders
of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the LORD
deliver them before me, shall I be your head? Then the princes of the Philistines went forth:
and it came to pass, after they went forth, [that] David behaved himself more wisely than all
the servants of Saul; so that his name was much set by. Then Joseph commanded to fill their
sacks with corn, and to restore every man’s money into his sack, and to give them provision for
the way: and thus did he unto them. So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Bethel the
fifteenth day of the eighth month, [even] in the month which he had devised of his own heart;
and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt
incense. And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of
Israel: And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in
the sight of the people. Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
All the words of my mouth [are] in righteousness; [there is] nothing froward or perverse in
them. The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. As Babylon
[hath caused] the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth.
And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, [that] Joshua commanded, and they
took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid
great stones in the cave’s mouth, [which remain] until this very day. Will they fortify
themselves? Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I [am] the
LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt. And the rulers also with them derided
[him], saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God. For I
will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember
no more. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. And as
he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge [him] vehemently,
and to provoke him to speak of many things: Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something
out of his mouth, that they might accuse him. But when he saith, all things are put under [him,
it is] manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. These [are] the sons of
Joseph after their families. And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly unto
her, [and] to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she
brought him into her father’s house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to
meet him. And Judah went up; and the LORD delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their
hand: and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men. They drive away the ass of the
fatherless, they take the widow’s ox for a pledge. And these [are] the kings that reigned in the
land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel. Thine own wickedness
shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that [it is]
an evil [thing] and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear [is] not
in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts. [As concerning] the sons of Laadan; the sons of the
Gershonite Laadan, chief fathers, [even] of Laadan the Gershonite, [were] Jehieli. And afterward
Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the
trees until the evening. And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry
[land]. Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of
God which [was] at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines,
drank in them. Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name.
Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly. And
I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said [it], that
they may believe that thou hast sent me. The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD
is clothed with strength, [wherewith] he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that
it cannot be moved. Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old
and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea,
the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And to the
sons of Gershom throughout their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of
Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen
cities. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?
Hitherto [is] the end of the matter. And he put the mitre upon his head; also upon the mitre,
[even] upon his forefront, did he put the golden plate, the holy crown; as the LORD commanded
Moses. But the lad knew not any thing: only Jonathan and David knew the matter. And Elisha said,
I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And these were the sons of Levi by
their names; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari. I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am
tossed up and down as the locust. So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit
together as one man. The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And Jacob said, Nay, I pray
thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore
I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me. Then
said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. Now therefore advise thyself what word I shall
bring again to him that sent me. [hath he] not [sent me] to the men that sit upon the wall, that
they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you? When the LORD shall stretch out
his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all
shall fail together. A [good] name [is] rather to be chosen than great riches, [and] loving
favour rather than silver and gold. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave
them an inheritance among the brethren of their father. How opened he thine eyes? And the
children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding
mighty; and the land was filled with them. He destroyed their vines with hail, and their
sycomore trees with frost. The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath
given me life. And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond. And now am I their
song, yea, I am their byword. And in his name shall the Gentiles trust. Then she fell on her
face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes,
that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I [am] a stranger? And he shall be for a
sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel,
for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. The word which [God] sent unto the
children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) That word, [I say], ye
know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which
John preached; How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went
about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. No man
also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh
away from the old, and the rent is made worse. For they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD
hath forsaken the earth. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child
was cured from that very hour. Have we eaten at all of the king’s [cost]? When I shall say to
the righteous, [that] he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit
iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath
committed, he shall die for it. Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and
in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. Then the king said to Haman, Make
haste, [and] take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the
Jew, that sitteth at the king’s gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken. And others
said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets. These are the two olive trees, and the
two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. The cities of the south shall be shut up,
and none shall open [them]: Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly
carried away captive. And the people flew upon the spoil, and took sheep, and oxen, and calves,
and slew [them] on the ground: and the people did eat [them] with the blood. I went out full,
and the LORD hath brought me home again empty: why [then] call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD hath
testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me? And [there were] wars between Rehoboam
and Jeroboam continually. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain,
so [was] the appearance of the brightness round about. And the devil said unto him, All this
power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever
I will I give it. Are we stronger than he? And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden;
and there he put the man whom he had formed. Go out, I pray now, and fight with them. And he
stretched [it] out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. Surely this also [is] vanity
and vexation of spirit. Of a foreigner thou mayest exact [it again]: but [that] which is thine
with thy brother thine hand shall release; Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the
LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee [for] an
inheritance to possess it: Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to
observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day. Therefore I will look unto
the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. And they came unto the
children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, unto the land
of Gilead, and they spake with them, saying, Thus saith the whole congregation of the LORD, What
trespass [is] this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from
following the LORD, in that ye have builded you an altar, that ye might rebel this day against
the LORD? And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried
the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, [thou] Son of David. For I will not see you now by
the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit. Declare ye among the
nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, [and] conceal not: say, Babylon is taken,
Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken
in pieces. Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee. He that
believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And the
king said, What wouldest thou? He that killeth an ox [is as if] he slew a man; he that
sacrificeth a lamb, [as if] he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, [as if he
offered] swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, [as if] he blessed an idol. And I came this day
unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I
go: Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh
forth to draw [water], and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to
drink; And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: [let] the same
[be] the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master’s son. Or who hath stretched the
line upon it? And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat [being]
then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign. Charge them
that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in
the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich
in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a
good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. And there came
in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him,
[even] against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the
king. And the firepans, and the bowls, [and] such things as [were] of gold, [in] gold, and of
silver, [in] silver, the captain of the guard took away. Because of the house of the LORD our
God I will seek thy good. How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? Or what profit [is there] of
circumcision? And so he did. And he said unto him, If thy presence go not [with me], carry us
not up hence. Ask of me, and I shall give [thee] the heathen [for] thine inheritance, and the
uttermost parts of the earth [for] thy possession. I will declare thy righteousness, and thy
works; for they shall not profit thee. Every man praying or prophesying, having [his] head
covered, dishonoureth his head. And when he came into her [tent], behold, Sisera lay dead, and
the nail [was] in his temples. Now there was much grass in the place. But if any have caused
grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all. The words of the
wise [are] as goads, and as nails fastened [by] the masters of assemblies, [which] are given
from one shepherd. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.
Nevertheless, [to avoid] fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have
her own husband. Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on
him whom he hath sent. Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in
Christ, [and] lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. [wherefore] have we
afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Reprobate silver shall [men] call them,
because the LORD hath rejected them. And the chief of the house of the father of the families of
the Kohathites [shall be] Elizaphan the son of Uzziel. There is a natural body, and there is a
spiritual body. And [the soul of] king David longed to go forth unto Absalom: for he was
comforted concerning Amnon, seeing he was dead. For our sakes, no doubt, [this] is written: that
he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of
his hope. Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of
the truth. And when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel [were] in the cities,
the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem. Amen. And he put them in ward
in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph [was] bound.
But blessed [are] your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. Righteous [art] thou, O
LORD, and upright [are] thy judgments. Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? But
before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be
revealed. And all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain
shall be scattered toward all winds: and ye shall know that I the LORD have spoken [it]. Send me
also cedar trees, fir trees, and algum trees, out of Lebanon: for I know that thy servants can
skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and, behold, my servants [shall be] with thy servants, Even to
prepare me timber in abundance: for the house which I am about to build [shall be] wonderful
great. [It is] he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the
earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the
earth: The LORD [is] his name. And let him that heareth say, Come. Doth not the ear try words?
Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan came
not forth in the mourning of Bethezel; he shall receive of you his standing. And there was sore
war against the Philistines all the days of Saul: and when Saul saw any strong man, or any
valiant man, he took him unto him. Behold, thou hast made my days [as] an handbreadth; and mine
age [is] as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state [is] altogether vanity. And
it was told him [by certain] which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to
see thee. In the mouth of the foolish [is] a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall
preserve them. But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall
begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of
that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for [him], and at an hour when he is not
aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And
who shall stand when he appeareth? And on whom [is] all the desire of Israel? For who knoweth
what [is] good for man in [this] life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a
shadow? And David said to Abner, [Art] not thou a [valiant] man? And all this assembly shall
know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle [is] the LORD’S, and he will
give you into our hands. I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I
make my supplication. And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and
weep? And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that
the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt: And in the morning, then ye shall see the
glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what [are] we, that
ye murmur against us? And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and
learned to catch the prey, [and] devoured men. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do
by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness,
and [their] thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) In the day when God
shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. And talk deceitfully for
him? For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated,
and spitted on: And they shall scourge [him], and put him to death: and the third day he shall
rise again. Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps,
and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left. Art thou better than populous No, that was
situate among the rivers, [that had] the waters round about it, whose rampart [was] the sea,
[and] her wall [was] from the sea? He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall
never see light. And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him,
[so] that his soul was vexed unto death; That he told her all his heart, and said unto her,
There hath not come a rasor upon mine head; for I [have been] a Nazarite unto God from my
mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be
like any [other] man. And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who [was] in Egypt,
whither he had fled from the presence of Solomon the king, heard [it], that Jeroboam returned
out of Egypt. If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt
put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove. But now this [shall be]
the thing which we will do to Gibeah; [we will go up] by lot against it; And we will take ten
men of an hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and an hundred of a thousand, and a
thousand out of ten thousand, to fetch victual for the people, that they may do, when they come
to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that they have wrought in Israel. If there
arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea,
and between stroke and stroke, [being] matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou
arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose; And thou shalt come
unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and inquire; and
they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment: And thou shalt do according to the sentence,
which they of that place which the LORD shall choose shall shew thee; and thou shalt observe to
do according to all that they inform thee: According to the sentence of the law which they shall
teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt
not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, [to] the right hand, nor [to] the
left. And she said unto her, [Is it] a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? Now he that
betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
He hath led me, and brought [me into] darkness, but not [into] light. Be ye also patient;
stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. And he did [that which was] right
in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did. And I John saw these
things, and heard [them]. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? And
John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth
not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. And they laughed him to scorn. But if
the scab spread much abroad in the skin, after that he hath been seen of the priest for his
cleansing, he shall be seen of the priest again: And [if] the priest see that, behold, the scab
spreadeth in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it [is] a leprosy. For thou
wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks. And this [is] the thing that
thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest’s office: Take one
young bullock, and two rams without blemish, And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered
with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: [of] wheaten flour shalt thou make them.
Maachah, Caleb’s concubine, bare Sheber, and Tirhanah. So they came up to Baalperazim; and David
smote them there. And the blood shall be forgiven them. His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as
hard as a piece of the nether [millstone]. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the
king back? And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject
unto us through thy name. And Athaliah did reign over the land. And they said one to another, Go
to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. By these three was the third part of men killed,
by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. But
Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea,
and all [ye] that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For these
are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is [but] the third hour of the day. A wise son maketh
a glad father: but a foolish son [is] the heaviness of his mother. From the cry of Heshbon
[even] unto Elealeh, [and even] unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar [even] unto
Horonaim, [as] an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.
And his dread fall upon you? All that are born of the country shall do these things after this
manner, in offering an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD. And Saul was very
wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands,
and to me they have ascribed [but] thousands: and [what] can he have more but the kingdom? To

perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. So ye shall not pollute the land
wherein ye [are]: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood
that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it. Out of the spoils won in battles did
they dedicate to maintain the house of the LORD. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit
down quickly, and write fifty. And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt
offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God. Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith
the LORD: for I [am] with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have
driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not
leave thee wholly unpunished. When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the
righteous shall see their fall. But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up
also the wheat with them. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. Why [then] is this people
of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? But Nineveh [is] of old like a pool of
water: yet they shall flee away. For who will hearken unto you in this matter? And he said, I
will tarry until thou come again. Then did I eat [it]; and it was in my mouth as honey for
sweetness. DWhen thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the
good land which he hath given thee. And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and
continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; That your rejoicing may be more
abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again. [Are] thy days as the days of man?
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth
peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy
God reigneth! Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for
they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion. And I will pluck up thy groves
out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities. If we say that we have not sinned, we
make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and
stoned him with stones, that he died. How doth the city sit solitary, [that was] full of people!
[how] is she become as a widow! she [that was] great among the nations, [and] princess among the
provinces, [how] is she become tributary! She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears [are] on
her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort [her]: all her friends have dealt
treacherously with her, they are become her enemies. And the anger of the LORD was hot against
Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children
of Ammon. Will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? This
only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of

forth, then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it
shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the LORD. He beholdeth all high [things]: he
[is] a king over all the children of pride. Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her
lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted. Shall I then take my bread, and my
water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give [it] unto men, whom I know not
whence they [be]? And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the
second priest, and the three keepers of the door: He took also out of the city an eunuch, which
had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king’s person, which
were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the
