travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and

wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. I am glad
of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part
they have supplied. Ye shall do no servile work [therein]: but ye shall offer an offering made
by fire unto the LORD. When the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee,
and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat
flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after. He made also bases, and lavers made he upon the bases;
One sea, and twelve oxen under it. So Jacob came to Luz, which [is] in the land of Canaan, that
[is], Bethel, he and all the people that [were] with him. For the prophecy came not in old time
by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost. The
hangings of one side [of the gate shall be] fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their
sockets three. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ
shall give thee light. Give ear, O my people, [to] my law: incline your ears to the words of my
mouth. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon
a rock, [and] established my goings. For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are
taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so [are] the sons of men
snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them. Blessed be the LORD out of Zion,
which dwelleth at Jerusalem. In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which [is]
before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD:
[it shall be] a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.
Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree. And there went forth a wind from the
LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let [them] fall by the camp, as it were a day’s
journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp,
and as it were two cubits [high] upon the face of the earth. For unto you it is given in the
behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; Having the same
conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear [to be] in me. And they said unto him, Ask counsel, we
pray thee, of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous. Doth [his]
promise fail for evermore? And David said unto Saul, Who [am] I? He hath given meat unto them
that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. And Jair died, and was buried in Camon.
The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up
their waves. He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall
do [that] which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall scatter among them
the prey, and spoil, and riches: [yea], and he shall forecast his devices against the strong
holds, even for a time. The nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter, begotten of thy father,
she [is] thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. And so he that had received five
talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five
talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. For if we believe that Jesus died
and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. And the porters
[were], Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum [was] the chief;
Who hitherto [waited] in the king’s gate eastward: they [were] porters in the companies of the
children of Levi. Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made
four parts, to every soldier a part; and also [his] coat: now the coat was without seam, woven
from the top throughout. So the king returned, and came to Jordan. When Pilate saw that he could
prevail nothing, but [that] rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed [his] hands
before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye [to it].
Thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria. And entering into a ship
of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; [one] Aristarchus, a
Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted [him]
up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength. Before him went the pestilence,
and burning coals went forth at his feet. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are
now ashamed? And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. Then Jonathan
and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul. And first I will recompense
their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine
inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things. And they came, every
one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, [and] they brought
the LORD’S offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service,
and for the holy garments. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had
compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the LORD said, Judah [shall go
up] first. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. Whereupon,
O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: But shewed first unto them of
Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and [then] to the Gentiles,
that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. Now Jesus was not yet
come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach
hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side:
and be not faithless, but believing. What then? He said, Bring them hither to me. For, behold, I
have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole
land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and
against the people of the land. They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like
men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and [when] they fall
upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. And they said, [He is] well: and, behold, Rachel his
daughter cometh with the sheep. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man
deceive you. I know his wrath, saith the LORD; but [it shall] not [be] so; his lies shall not so
effect [it]. And Saul knew David’s voice, and said, [Is] this thy voice, my son David? Lord,
thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. They say unto him, Twelve. And Haman told
Zeresh his wife and all his friends every [thing] that had befallen him. Then said Pilate unto
him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? Gather yourselves together, and
hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father. And the king of Israel and
Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place
in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them. And ought
not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be
loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if
the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that [is] the thing which the LORD hath not spoken,
[but] the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. And Abram
journeyed, going on still toward the south. And Judah said, Let her take [it] to her, lest we be
shamed: behold, I sent this kid, and thou hast not found her. He shall fly away as a dream, and
shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night. I called upon the
LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, [and set me] in a large place. And it came to pass, when
I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.
Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom [brought] from the land of
Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more. [why]
hidest thou thy face from me? And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all [their] days.
Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that [is] in thine heart; for God [is] with thee. I would
they were even cut off which trouble you. But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name’s
sake: because thy mercy [is] good, deliver thou me. And wherefore slew he him? And Naboth said
to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee. My
covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. And her prophets
have daubed them with untempered [morter], seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying,
Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken. But when Moses went in before the LORD
to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. Thou hast loved righteousness, and
hated iniquity; therefore God, [even] thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above
thy fellows. And [one] wing of the other cherub [was] five cubits, reaching to the wall of the
house: and the other wing [was] five cubits [also], joining to the wing of the other cherub.
Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next [day]
to Neapolis; And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia,
[and] a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days. And Naarah bare him Ahuzam, and
Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt
in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye
now dwell. And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of
the Syrians two and twenty thousand men. For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the
navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory,
and apes, and peacocks. For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and
not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. Saith the LORD. There is
a sore evil [which] I have seen under the sun, [namely], riches kept for the owners thereof to
their hurt. Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my
knowledge. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and
believe, that the Father [is] in me, and I in him. But in the fourth generation they shall come
hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites [is] not yet full. Shout against her round about:
she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it [is] the
vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her. Then shall [his]
mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, [imputing] this his power unto his god. And he
saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. Let the floods clap
[their] hands: let the hills be joyful together Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the
earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity. And these [were]
the chief of king Solomon’s officers, [even] two hundred and fifty, that bare rule over the
people. And if the bright spot stay in his place, [and] spread not in the skin, but it [be]
somewhat dark; it [is] a rising of the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him clean: for it
[is] an inflammation of the burning. And the priest that offereth any man’s burnt offering,
[even] the priest shall have to himself the skin of the burnt offering which he hath offered.
But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O
Absalom, my son, my son! And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed
this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy
sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines; In that
thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. Behold, [it is] written before me: I will not
keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, Your iniquities, and the
iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the
mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into
their bosom. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in
this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. And Jonadab said unto the king, Behold,
the king’s sons come: as thy servant said, so it is. So the people of Nineveh believed God, and
proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven,
thence will I bring them down: And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will
search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea,
thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them: And though they go into captivity
before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set
mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and
righteousness shall look down from heaven. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of
your fathers? But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall
be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the
water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he [is] unclean. [And] as soon as the lad
was gone, David arose out of [a place] toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and
bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David
exceeded. But he spake of the temple of his body. But David went and returned from Saul to feed
his father’s sheep at Bethlehem. And Esther said, The adversary and enemy [is] this wicked
Haman. Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase [it], rase
[it, even] to the foundation thereof. Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD
of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth;
and none shall gather up him that wandereth. Behold, they [are] all vanity; their works [are]
nothing: their molten images [are] wind and confusion. Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to
Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and
thus and thus have I counselled. The sons of Shemaiah; Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad,
whose brethren [were] strong men, Elihu, and Semachiah. And David said unto the young man that
told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead? I behaved myself as though
[he had been] my friend [or] brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth [for his]
mother. Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. And he left them, and
entering into the ship again departed to the other side. In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven
years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and
Judah. [And] of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; [and the
LORD] shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders. Be not a
terror unto me: thou [art] my hope in the day of evil. And all the people, both small and great,
and the captains of the armies, arose, and came to Egypt: for they were afraid of the Chaldees.
Or with what comparison shall we compare it? Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou
sayest, I have not sinned. And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full
of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on [his] face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt,
thou canst make me clean. And he said, [Be it] according to thy word: that thou mayest know that
[there is] none like unto the LORD our God. Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray
unto God uncovered? I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out
of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and [place] shall not be
found for them. Then after that saith he to [his] disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. And
the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word: But [as] truly [as] I live, all the earth
shall be filled with the glory of the LORD. Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the LORD out
of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich
unto all that call upon him. And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with
haste, into a city of Juda; And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. Then
Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard [you]; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your
God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, [that] whatsoever thing the LORD shall
answer you, I will declare [it] unto you; I will keep nothing back from you. Be not deceived:
neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves
with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall
inherit the kingdom of God. Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? So Simeon
went with him. Yea, though he live a thousand years twice [told], yet hath he seen no good: do
not all go to one place? He croucheth, [and] humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his
strong ones. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? [These were] all the sons of David, beside
the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister. And immediately the leprosy departed from
him. Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi. At the appointment of Aaron and his sons

them the king’s letters. And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among
themselves, saying, What thing is this? If a bird’s nest chance to be before thee in the way in
any tree, or on the ground, [whether they be] young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the
young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young: [But] thou shalt in any
wise let the dam go, and take the young to thee; that it may be well with thee, and [that] thou
mayest prolong [thy] days. What can David [speak] more to thee for the honour of thy servant? Or
what [if] thy father answer thee roughly? Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of
Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all [other],
and guided them on every side. If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it;
he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. Then said he unto the dresser
of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none:
cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived
me: for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go to the king;
because thy servant [is] lame. Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to
wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now

thou make. Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And the king of Israel
said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy
robes. And also the name of the city [shall be] Hamonah. Let him shew out of a good conversation
his works with meekness of wisdom. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before [it
hated] you. Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him
rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and
quietness unto Israel in his days. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. I, [even] I, [am]
he that comforteth you: who [art] thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man [that] shall die,
and of the son of man [which] shall be made [as] grass; And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that
hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared
continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? With
long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. And Micah said unto him, Whence comest
thou? Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise [men] out of Edom, and
understanding out of the mount of Esau? After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his
mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days. And he
shall take off from it all the fat of the bullock for the sin offering; the fat that covereth
the inwards, and all the fat that [is] upon the inwards, And the two kidneys, and the fat that
[is] upon them, which [is] by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it
shall he take away, As it was taken off from the bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings:
and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt offering. But if thou do that which
is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a
revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil. When he was come down from the mountain,
great multitudes followed him. And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said,

done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives

him that knocketh it shall be opened. And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come,
saying, What [is] this? And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold
their possessions and goods, and parted them to all [men], as every man had need. I have seen
all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all [is] vanity and vexation of spirit.
But [when] ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to
inherit, and [when] he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in
safety; Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to
dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your
sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye
vow unto the LORD: And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your
daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that [is] within your
gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you. And the eye cannot say unto the
hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Even so
hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. Let no man

Philistines [be] upon thee, Samson. Even very dark, and no brightness in it? Ye have said, It
[is] vain to serve God: and what profit [is it] that we have kept his ordinance, and that we
have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts? Be strong, and quit yourselves like men, O ye
Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves
like men, and fight. And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and
lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine: and Israel heard [it]. And he sighed deeply in his
spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? For if the firstfruit [be] holy,
the lump [is] also [holy]: and if the root [be] holy, so [are] the branches. And the vision of
all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which [men] deliver to one that is
learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it [is] sealed: And the
book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am
not learned. Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name. Or

journeys. For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously
with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak
fair words unto thee. Therefore now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel;
Wherefore commit ye [this] great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman,
child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain; In that ye provoke me unto wrath
with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye
be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach
among all the nations of the earth? So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that
runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. And she said, I will go. And he put forth [his] hand,
and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring [it] to

which went astray away from me after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity. And it
came to pass after this, [that] Joash was minded to repair the house of the LORD. And they shall
say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate
