My favorite author

I don't have a favorite author, but I have a

favorite book - "The Adventures of
Sherlock Holmes", so I will tell you about
Arthur Conan Doyle as my favorite
author.

Arthur Conan Doyle is a Scottish writer who wrote in English. This

author is popular all over the world. He wrote more than 50 short stories
and 4 novels. But he became one of the most popular writers after
writing works about Sherlock Holmes.
Some interesting facts:
1) He actually worked as a detective. Once, Conan Doyle found evidence in a
case involving the killing of an animal and the matter was changed.

2) Conan Doyle based the character of Sherlock Holmes on his professor

Joseph Bell, who was very observant and сlever.

3) The author fell in love with detectives after reading the book "The
Gold Beetle" written by Edgar Allan Poe.
