3mm Crochet Hook
Wool Needle (for sewing)

Abbreviations:
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
inc – 2 double crochet stitches into next stitch
dec – decrease over next 2 stitches in front loops only (invisible decrease)
FLO – crochet into front loops only
sl st – slip stitch
f/o – fasten off by slip stitch in next stitch

Note:
 Unless stated work in continuous rounds marking last
stitch of each row with a stitch marker before proceeding
with the next.
 When stuffing make sure that you don’t overstuff as you
don’t want the stuffing to show through when complete.
 Fish should be filled just enough that it can be easily
squeezed when pinched firmly.

Chicken Drumstick:
Using Golden:
Row 1: ch 2, dc 6sts into 2nd st from hook (alternatively dc 6sts into magic ring) (6)
Row 2: inc x6 (12)
Row 3: (dc into next st, inc) x6 (18)
Rows 4 – 9: dc (18) (4 rows)
Row 10: (dc into next 4sts, dec) x3 (15)
Row 11: (dc into next 3sts, dec) x3 (12)
Row 12: (dc into next 2sts, dec) x3 (9)
Stuff.
Row 13: (dc into next st, dec) x3 (6)

F/O leaving a 20cm/8” end.

Bone:
Using White:
Row 14: keeping 20cm/8” end to outside (will be needed to attach keychain), sl st join into
any of the sts from previous row, dc into next 6sts (6)
Rows 15 – 16: dc (6) (2 rows)
Row 17: inc x6 (12) sl st into next st
Stuff.
Row 18 (1st Knuckle on Bone): miss 6, sl st into next st, working around circle formed by
sl st across centre, dc into next 6sts (6) sl st to join

F/O leaving a 40cm/16” end.

Row 19 (2nd Knuckle on Bone): slide hook from unworked half of circle through to worked
part and pull 40cm/16” end through hole so that it end up outside unworked half of bone
knuckle, sl st to join on inside edge of knuckle, dc into next 6sts (6) sl st to join

F/O
DO NOT CUT END

Finishing Bone:
Using remainder of end and small running st, thread through FLO of nearest 6sts and pull
tight to gather.
Secure end with a couple of small sts.
Weave end through to other side of bone knuckle and repeat.
Weave end through bone and cut flush to finish.

Attaching Keychain:
Using 20cm/8” golden end, thread through to top of chicken leg and secure with a couple
of small sts, being careful not to pull chicken drumstick out of shape.
Thread end through base of keychain and using 5 small back sts through keychain and
chicken, attach the keychain.
Secure end with a couple of small sts and then weave end through chicken and cut flush
to finish.
