Commonly Confused Words
Usually, time is not on my side in the classroom. I feel like I never have time to revisit skills previously
taught. Occasionally, I have a few minutes here and there, you know not enough to start another lesson but
too much to let my kiddos chat. I always feel like those hidden, unplanned minutes could be better spent.
Finally, here’s my solution! These ‘last 5 minutes’ cards are a perfect way to review previous skills and not
waste precious minutes in the classroom. This resource might also prove beneficial for your fast finishers.
You know, the kiddos that are just a smidge quicker at completing work and need something to work on while
the rest of the class finishes up. Read below for additional ways to use this resource in your classroom.
Thanks for all you do!
How To Use:
-There are 20 task cards focusing on one skill. I’ve also included each task card as a single
projectable page. This could even lend itself to a quick bell ringer.
-Another option I’ve included are Exit Tickets. You can use these as a quick formative assessment
as your students exit the room.
-You can have your students answer these informally or, if you prefer, use the response cards
also included to have students record their answers to this practice.
-Lastly, keep these at your fingertips just in case your principal decides to do a ‘walkthrough.’
Easy, no-prep way to keep your students actively engaged in content!
I really wanted to make this resource useful and versatile to fit your needs. E-mail me at
anchoredinreading@gmail if you have any suggestions/questions/concerns.
Thank you!
