low-lying areas are prone

CONTINGENCY PLAN
The National Disaster Risk Reduction As for the action plan of the city of
and Management Council (NDRRMC) Las Pinas, they have outlined it

said, here are some of the

case of infrastructure risks:
• They assess the
infrastructure’s materials and
develop a preventive

order to ensure the reliability
of the infrastructure
components;

procedures for responding to
debris flow, such as alerting
the key personnel responsible
and activating response
teams; and
• They conduct regular drills to
test the effectiveness of the
contingency plan during
infrastructure-related risks.
• The city government of Las
Pinas conducts a planning
workshop regarding the
contingency plan on cleaning
up and preserving Manila Bay
area, since the city is near the
Manila Bay which can affect
when a typhoon occurs.

ACTION PLAN

• Preparation Phase - They

infrastructures are critical
whenever there are
typhoons.
• Response Phase - They
activate response teams
and prioritize response
actions based on the
severity of the risk in order
to mitigate further
damage. The city of Las
Pinas also take immediate
steps by isolating the
affected areas.
• Recovery Phase - They
continually monitor the
vulnerability of the debris
flow from the
infrastructure to prevent
future incidents.
• Once the risk occurs, they
activate monitoring
systems to track the
progress of the typhoon
and flood.
• They also prepare all the
response vehicles and
equipment.
