worldwide. • Monotheistic means a
belief in one god (usually referred
to as God).

prophet Muhammad and taught
by the Quran, the basic
principle of which is absolute
submission to a unique and
personal god, Allah.

Hinduism can be defined as a


collection of the religion, culture,
and philosophy of ancient India. It
is characterized by a belief in
reincarnation as well as in a
supreme god or entity called
Brahman who has multiple
manifestations as a variety of
deities.

taoism

Taoism teaches that all living


creatures ought to live in a state
of harmony with the universe,
and the energy found in it. Ch'i,
or qi, is the energy present in
and guiding everything in the
universe.

buddhism
a religion of eastern and central
Asia growing out of the teaching
of Siddhārtha Gautama that
suffering is inherent in life and
that one can be liberated from it
by cultivating wisdom, virtue, and
concentration

judaism
Judaism, monotheistic religion
developed among the ancient
Hebrews. Judaism is characterized
by a belief in one transcendent God
who revealed himself to Abraham,
Moses, and the Hebrew prophets
and by a religious life in accordance
with Scriptures and rabbinic
traditions.
