※ Translate the following sentences with being cautious of usage of “Dash.”

1. “Well, my dear," said Mr. Bennet, when Elizabeth had read the note aloud, "if your daughter
should have a dangerous fit of illness—if she should die, it would be a comfort to know that
it was all in pursuit of Mr. Bingley, and under your orders.”

2. She might come to the party—you never know.

3. In 2017 many of these survivors came forward—offered to give information - about sexual
harassment in Hollywood.

4. The singer was young, beautiful, famous—and addicted to drugs.

5. And yet, when the car was finally delivered—nearly three months after it was ordered—she decided
she no longer wanted it, leaving the dealer with an oddly equipped car that would be difficult to sell.

6. The white sand, the warm water, the sparkling sun—this is what brought them to Fiji.

7. My son—where has he gone?—would like to meet you.

8. Everything I saw in my new neighborhood—from the graceful elm trees to the stately brick buildings
—reminded me of my alma mater.

9. Electric cars were always environmentally friendly, quiet, clean —but definitely not sexy.

10. Since there is no such thing as a truly literal translation — no two languages’ grammars match, their
vocabularies diverge, even punctuation has a different weight—there can be no such thing as a
translation that is not “creative.”
