Her Sport, Her Way - Surfing NSW Her Wave Case Study

Target Audience: NSW females of all ages

Project Description: Surfing NSW's Her Wave Project encompassed three


initiatives:

1. Get Her Onboard: Health and Wellbeing Surf Experiences;


2. Her Experiences: Recreational surf lifestyle experiences; and
3. Progress Her: Grassroots female boardrider club member development
and engagement opportunities.

These projects aimed to strengthen female surfing and retention at a


grassroots level along the NSW coastline.

● Key Partners: SNSW affiliated Surf Schools, Boardrider Clubs, Roxy, SDS &
Kayo

Primary Aim: To increase and nurture female surfing in NSW through various
initiatives that reduce barriers and support growth in female participation in
surfing.

Evaluation Metrics:

1. Increased access to surfing, engaging 1,500 women in learn-to-surf or


learn-to-Stand-Up Paddle (SUP) sessions.

2. Engagement of women in surfing through various programs and


activities.
