Nigerian Government Announces

Plans to Boost Small Business Growth

With a desire to spur economic growth and build small

business power, the Nigerian government has made
known its plan to set up a number of initiatives in support
of entrepreneurs and startups across the country. That
would be interesting to witness, considering that the
author is invested in the Nigerian economy to that scale,
and how enthusiastically such initiatives might make new
ideas buoyant.

Interpreting from the context of the strategic plan, one of

the initiatives is about the establishment of a special fund
that will provide fiscal support for small and medium-scale
businesses, with more emphasis on the latter lot. The
others include cutting down on bureaucratic hurdles in the
process of regulation and making it easier for start-ups to
do business in Nigeria.

The government is also promising to invest even more in

infrastructure development toward an environment friendly
to the operation of small businesses. This will include
better access to reliable electricity, means of better
transportation, and ens-uring expanded internet
connections to the lesser covered zones. The government
aspires, through these strategic interventions in such
critical infrastructure gaps, to unlock the full potential of
Nigeria's entrepreneurial ecosystem and drive growth.

"The SEEED initiative, to me, on the challenges that I

have practically seen small businesses in Nigeria to have,
is bound to impact the economy; it shows an attitudinal
change by a government that would be seriously
committed to unlocking opportunities for individuals to
benefit from entrepreneurship. This payment will help a lot
of small businesses throughout the country get off the
ground and see to it that many budding entrepreneurs get
to realize their dreams. End of statement.

This will make it very ideal for government to ensure that

such efforts of rolling out are done with truthfulness, clarity,
and effectiveness so as their impact would be optimized.
This will lead to trust built between entrepreneurs and
those funding them in order to ensure just resources that
are appropriate are put to good use in letting small
business ventures take off.

On the whole, the future of Small Business in Nigeria is

quite promising, and that these activities will soon manifest
themselves in the near future. With the right support and
provision of an enabling environment, the prospects that
await Nigerian entrepreneurs are indeed quite huge.

Nigerian Football Federation

Announces New Partnership to
Develop Youth Talent.

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has just

announced collaboration with the leading sports academy
in a move to boost grassroots football development to
ensure talents are spotted early across the country. As a
deep-hearted follower of football, I am so happy at what is
likely becoming an opportunity to invest in the upcoming
talents in Nigerian football.

The NFF shall partner with the sports academy to erect

programs for talent identification across the regions of the
country. The program was to attract young aspiring
footballers to the best coaches and the best facilities at the
same time offering a platform nationally where the football
talent can be displayed.

"The partnership is set to bridge working with education

and instilling character alongside training in football
whereby holistic development shall be identified in young
athletes. It shall focus on education and personal growth,
and empowering of the youth footballers in and off the
field," NFF further stated.

With what I have personally witnessed—talent and ability

from Nigerian youth at the highest level in the sport of
football—this partnership will further serve to provide an
overhaul that would change the outlook for Nigerian
football on the world stage. This will on the one hand
make the NFF call to heart the AG, while on the other
hand, the AG will ensure that such opportunities are put to
good use under its management.

However, it shall be incumbent upon the NFF and

associates to ensure that these programs are across the
divide and present equal opportunities for young talent
from all backgrounds. The organization itself will be
structured in such a way to reach the underserved locales
to ensure equal opportunities in participation that will go a
long way in unearthing Nigeria's huge reservoirs of very
raw-yet-gifted soccer talent with a view to developing it
fully.

In all, I strongly believe that the partnership gained will just

be a purge factor into the future of Nigerian football. We
are all eagerly holding our breaths for that day when hope
will be renewed for this great nation to experience another
generation flush with talent represented on the football
front like SGL intends to.
