- History of computer

The history of computers dates back to the 19th century with concepts such as Charles Babbage’s
difference machine, without direct sequel. Alan Turing mathematically formalized the notion of
computer in 1931. The first implementations began to emerge in the middle of the 20th century,
notably thanks to the work of von Neumann in 1945, and developed rapidly with the advent of
transistors and integrated circuits, this which allowed the manufacture of smaller, faster and cheaper
machines. The 1970s saw the emergence of personal computers, while the 1990s saw the rise of the
Internet and networked communication. (Wikipedia)
