Data Input Clerk

DEFINITION:
The Data Input Clerk, under general supervision of the site administrator, is responsible
to input and maintain the student data base and prepare reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Inputs and updates all student information including adds/drops, schedule changes,
and locker assignments.
• Runs all locator cards, labels, cum/grade stickers, attendance sheets, absence
verification sheets, class roster, semester grade rosters, progress/grade reports, and
add/drop lists.
• Inputs and prints out all discipline reports.
• Posts daily readmits and assists with attendance when possible.
• Assists counselor(s) with master schedule.
• Runs various local, state and federal reports.
• Updates data base by downloading from District web site.
• Performs daily and monthly backup.
• Performs related tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
• Data base concept.
• Data input and retrieval of information.
• Modern office equipment and procedures.
• Health regulations and safe working methods and procedures.
• Proper lifting techniques.
• District policies, rules and regulations.
Ability to:
• Accurately input and maintain data base.
• Assist with attendance procedures.
• Access and retrieve a variety of reports.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Observe health and safety regulations
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Education/Training/Required Certification:
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year experience with computers in a school office setting.
• Specific training on District used student data base desirable.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger,

arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee may occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Work conditions may include
exposure to fumes, dust, odors, cleaning agents and chemicals. Specific vision abilities required
by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to
adjust focus.
