For all CO2 Extinguishers:
Testing, filling & quality control flow
Extinguishers are retrieved from the client and replaced
by extinguishers on consignment basis during the main-
tenance time process, then for each extinguisher:
• Before filling:
1. check physical damage
2. check the testing date of the cylinder
3. check if the cylinder is compliant with the list of
unusable cylinders
4. check if the valve is functional and compliant with
the list of usable valves
5. then, if required, the cylinder is submitted to a
series of inspections:
- fiber optic inspection of the interior of the cylinder
for damage & corrosion
- hydrostatic pressure test at 1.5 the cylinder’s Test-
ing Pressure using the latest equipment
• If the Cylinder passes all the tests, it’s sent to
the filling station:
1. The cylinder is weighted empty
2. The cylinder gets filled with Liquid CO2 to its cor-
respondent capacity (6kg, 9kg…)
3. The cylinder is re-weighted to make sure it’s full
(0.66 x Volume in L = max capacity in KG)
4. The valve is checked with a specific material to
make sure it sealed and there’s no leakage
5. Then there’s the Pressure Test
6. Then it’s sealed and sent to the customer
